My boyfriend and i are joing the air force and are getting married before boot camp?

The Air Force Personnel Center will try very hard to work what is called a Join-Spose (or Joint-Spouse) assignment for you. Depending on what career fields you choose (or are assigned), you may end up going to different tech schools. If you do go to different tech schools and one graduates before the other, then the one who graduates first will be given their assignment first. Once you know that, then the other one may send that info to AFPC and they will try to assign the second one of you to that same base. While you're at tech school, your instructors will bring in reps from AFPC to talk you through all of this so that would be the perfect time to ask them all these questions.

Some career fields are very limited in the bases where they can be assigned (particularly if they're specialized). If both of you have these careers, then it makes AFPC's job harder to match you to the same base. Sometimes, they may not be able to get you to the same base, in which case you will be stationed at different bases. This does happen sometimes, but AFPC does a really good job of making sure husbands and wives get to stay together.

When you go to Basic is determined by when your Tech School starts.

Where you go to tech school is determined by what your job will be.

So plan on going to basic at different times, if you have guaranteed jobs.

But if you both enlist under an open area ( admin, mech, elec, general ) contract, then you can both go to basic at the same time.

If one finishes Tech School first, they will go to their first duty assignment and live in the barracks.

The largest obstacles are:

Having AFSC's that can be assigned to the same AFB

Having AFSC's that allow 3 Levels to be assigned at the same AFB

You need to both fill out a AF Form 1048 (Military Spouse Information)

At the earlist possible time.

Super bad idea for you both to join. What will happen is you will be apart and even if you get married later it will become problematic. Career wise it is a no go all of the way around for both.

You both join and you can kiss your relationship goodbye. You two need to decide what you really want.
