My boyfriend is in Afganistan and im struggling for things to write in a letter to him.Any suggestions?

When i was in Iraq there was two types of letter that I got from my wife. The first contained all the news that was going on, no matter how mundane, what the cats did, family etc. It's news of these simple things that will re-assure him that there are constants in life even when he is some far flung corner of the earth. I know those used to keep my spirits up.

The kind were full of the intimacy that can only be discussed between a man and wife, if you get what I mean!

You can never go wrong by telling him how much you love him or how much you miss him.

Write a letter about an ordinary day. Like "A Day in the Life".
Start the letter as how you woke up. Then talk about the most mundane things you did. You can explain that you are letting him know what you are up to.

Talk about the crazy dude in traffic who cut you off. Talk about the wait at the Mc D. or what ever silly little event. Go ahead and exaggerate a little. (I don't mean lie, but make use a little imagination.) You can use a little witt and charm to make it sound interesting.

he doesn't care what you write in the letter, just as long as he gets mail from you. maybe you could write what you are going to do to him the next time you two are together i am sure he would love that. i know i did when i was on deployment. hope that helps.

write,write,write about anything. Weather, movies you've seen, your job, school anything. He needs to hear from you. I too thank him for what he is doing and God bless him. My son went overseas shortly after joining the service. Letters keep them connected to home while being so far away. Since you have his address, why not him a care package of his favorite food
( ie; chips candy, etc) magazines etc.

Having been on the recieving end of letters from home when I was in Bosnia, Ireland, the Falklands, kuwait etc. the best thing you can do is just chat about every day stuff, it reminds him there is a normal world out there and what he's doing is just temprary, like an escape if you like.
My wife used to write letters dictated to her by my 3 year old son, word for word, and they were great, now he's 17 he just emails asking for money!

The best letters I ever got were from some random woman who just wrote about various mishaps in her life. Everything she did was disastrous, examples included: cooking, trying to paint the house, decorating for christmas, etc... it was hilarious.

Just write whatever comes to mind.

Just write about normal everyday events.

My wife writes to our son at least twice a week - just fills a bluey with anything she can think of. His fiance does the same - it shows he's always in her thoughts.

He's on his 4th tour in Afghan and he says the letters help keep him sane, doesn't care about the content so long as they are plentiful. Some of the lads out there never get a letter - and that is sad.

Tell him how about everything that is goin on at home, the weather, tv, so that when he is reading the letter it can take his mind off where he's at. write in jokes!

I agree with what everyone says he is just going to smile and be happy to recieve your letter. How about telling him a funny embarrassing story about yourself that you haven't shared with him. Im sure that would make him laugh! Hope you get to see him soon.

Tell him anything ! what you did that day , what you are thinking about just getting the letter is showing him love enough some women say they will and don't.

He doesn't want anything like that....he just wants a little bit of you to hold. Your love, your smell etc. Some thing to hold in he's heart. Just be your self, he chose you for who you were. Wish him well from all of us.

write anything, and if you think the letter is boring just write another to go with it but make that 1 a dirty one or something :)

I have lived in different parts of the world but not in a war zone.
The letters I most appreciated were full of daily gossip, adventures on the bird feeding table, local sports news and your opinion of this. What is happening at his local pub and disco.
Messages from friends who mean to write but don't quite get round to it. Information on squabbles and making up among family and friends. Keep a diary and note down things that interest you and refer to this when you write.
