My boyfriend is in the U.S. Army and just got deployed for the first time what should I expect?

If you can't stay faithful to him, break up with him right now. If you can stay faithful to him, write him a letter/email everyday, as often as possible. Send a gift package as often as possible. Nothing in this world is stronger than the heart of a volunteer and your man answered the call. Your obligation is let him know what he's fighting for and what's waiting for him at home! if you can't handle the pressure, then cut yourself and him loose.

he might not be able to email you for a week or two but the war isn't too bad right now so I think you will be able to hear from him often.

He will get stressed and might seem to have an attitude... it's not you

He may become distant.... Again, it's not you.

Also, Just be his cheerleader and send him goodies and he will be happy.

Qatar is the Disneyland of deployments. No combat there at all, large post with everything a city has...Only thing you will have to worry about is all the easy USAF girls that are there. When I was in Iraq we all hoped for a 4 day pass to Qatar....Never happened but i digress.

Apparently all these people don't realize Qatar is a seperate country, a long ways away from Iraq. The war is no where near there.

Finally moving out in July!

You won't be able to seem him very much(unless the computer you & he both use has a webcam). Other than that, just relax & try not to think about it. He'll be home before you know it.

Not directly. I would assume you would have to use video technology on the internet if you want face time
I would defiantly worry about lack of exercise and a poor diet. In today's world it is hard to stay healthy without being active.

I would expect that you should consider trying a seperation.

Unless I were married to him, I wouldn't wait. Truth is he isn't going to be faithful. Too much temptation, too much time apart and plenty of female soliders there who are lonely too.
