Find answers to your legal question.

My boyfriend is joining the Australian Army. Should I be worried?

I cant help but be worried after hearing of the australian soldier who died and left his wife and kid behind. I know that its safer now than it was some years ago...i would never ask him to not go through with it just because of my fear, I'd like to support him on this, but do i have any reason to be scared or am i just overreacting?

Ok, enough of you people making the immature joke about Australia having an Army.

I was in Iraq and met Soldiers from many different nations to include Australia. All were professional and I consider all of them my brother-in-arms.

It is natural to be concerned with him joining the Army, but believe me... no nation will send out their Soldiers untrained. Your boyfriend will receive plenty of training and he will be safer than you think if he does end up going to a combat zone.

The thing that he would need the most is support of his family and friends. Trust me that he will be fine. The hardest problem that new Soldiers have is wondering if their relationship will survive. If he is worth it... stick with him and stay close to his family. He will only be in his training for a short time then he will be back or will be somewhere where you two can continue your relationship.

I can't think of the last time I heard anything about an Australian Army, or, an Australian soldier being killed. Just support him, that's what anybody does in a relationship. He should support your decisions too. And, it's really not anymore safe that it was a few years ago, it's pretty much the same **** different toilet.

United States citizens can join the Australian Army? JK
Why are you not using "Yahoo Answers Australia" ?

They just give you a gun and you go to war! It's extremely dangerous.

Start looking for another boyfriend.
