The army entails a lot of great benefits. Health benefits would be the best. Of course, there's a chance of going to war. Is it inevitable? No. Your boyfriend would be serving his country, and that's all that matters.
If he wants to do it.. Let him do it. |

yes you can go to war in the reserves.....don't sign up if you don't want to go...otherwise, if you are willing to serve your country, the reserves has a lot to offer.....You get the GI Bill which is round about 42,000 dollars for college, If you are on active status, you get tri-care prime for health insurance which you don't have to pay for. Military service looks great on your resume. I could go on and on. Your boyfriend should really go talk to a recruiter. |

In the UK (Im not sure if youre American?) the reserve or TA as we're known, are a part time army. The job involves basic training usually done over a period of weekends then trade training again done over weekends or camps (2 weeks). Its a great thing to get into, yu get paid for the work you do and it can be very rewarding. There are chances of deployment esp in todays current climate of events :S but thats our job and its what we do.
The bod that answered your question before obviously doesnt have a scooby on what the army is about or what they do...yes we go to war...yes we defend our country...and yes we give aid to other unfortunate countries but we do other jobs too. We protect our homeland and our crown and people, if we didnt the country would have no defence what so ever.
