I am 27 and my husband is 28. We both have our bachelor's degree and we have a 14 month old son.
From the day that I met my husband all he's wanted to do was be in the military and do something that mattered. He has worked with a logistics company for 5 years but was unsatisfied so I told him to quit his job and follow his dream.
I'd be lying if I said that I'm not petrified, as I am quitting my job when the economy is TERRIBLE and will be moving who knows where and to top it off I have no idea what to expect.
I am not sure how hard it will be for all of us or how often I can expect my husband to be deployed as an officer.
Can some ladies please help me?

It is going to be a tough transition from your usual life to one of a military family, but it is something that can definitely strengthen your relationship and open many doors you never considered.
There will always be a steady paycheck waiting for your husband, many benefits for all three of you, housing, food, military discounts, financial aid for your children's college (from civilian sources, FAFSA, etc.), loan assistance and better interest rates, etc. etc.
You would find out much more by finding a couple of forums by Military wives that explain things in detail, however just know that as terrifying as it is, it is also a great experience for both your husband and yourself. He'll be happy following his dream, and that will transfer to you. |

Just a little help here from a male officer. Military.com has a lot of good message boards under "discussion." You can also try armyocs.com and speak to many female officers. Those two sites will be very helpful.
