My military husband had a baby with another soldier while still married. Can he get introuble?

We had just seperated and my husband dated a girl from his unit and got her pregnant. She had an abortion but they are still in the same unit. Can he get introuble by his commander?

MAD MARDEN
Absolutely! Adultery is not supported at all by the military. Infidelity shows a lack of discipline, morals, ethics and dignity.-- all of which are not the traits of a good soldier.

Holbrook
You have to be able to prove it...with pictures, video, etc...the baby would have worked...but it is gone....if you could prove it, yes he could get in a lot of trouble...

who cares? get a divorce and let him deal with his own messed up life choices.

If you'd like to get him in trouble, you probably can - hope you're not getting support from him...

He could if they had proof, if she had an abortion, there is no proof. Then again it also depends on his and her rank.

AFwife
yes only if you have some kind of proof they were together, he will get pay taken away and he will be demoted

half of my family is military

i am with the navy lady and the other lady who said think about it

if you are taking him back, and it sounds like you are, don't worry...the person with the proof is the girl and she is unlikely to tell on him...

if you are divorcing him, just move on....the sooner you get over it the sooner it gets better

if you are still together, in the future, tell him to be careful if you split up again

the pain isn't worth it

get some counseling like the other ladies said and put it behind you...i am sure that is what the other girl is doing...and don't worry about her...he is probably so spooked by the episode that he won't go near her...feel sorry for her...really, would you want to be working with someone who was still married when going with you, just needing closeness, and then having to abort your child because the relationship wasn't going anywhere?...yipes what a nightmare

be glad you are you

Yes. Especially if he is in her chain of command or an officer. Adultry is still a crime in the military. Call his commanding officer and report him.

Annie
It would be doubtful if you both agree you were seperated at the time, however, according to the UCMJ, unless it was a legal seperation he did break the law. And if he is in her direct chain of command (her supervisor) and'or must sign off on her yearly evaluations then that is a huge nono. Since it has not come to light at this point, there shouldn't be an issue. However, if things have recently changed (such as the things I mentioned above), he should talk to his CO. Any type of personal relationship can cause issues when it comes time to yearly reviews. He needs to see what the command feels on the subject so that there can be no question of favortism or special treatment (especially true if others in the office or duty area knew they dated). Telling them now about any possible conflicts will generate a lot less problems than if someone complains about it later on.

Sara
that's awful. i would leave him if i were instead of you.

Sounds like Navy Sailor and her hubby have been sleeping around on each other...oh well, that's her problem.
As for you and your husband (if thats what you want to call him), if you want to leave him...you should. Don't stay in the relationship thinking you are going to starve to death. There are MANY single parents who live well without the support/help of the other cheating/lieing spouse. You can and will survive without your hubby's money. You will be entitled to part of whatever little money he does bring in, but like evryone else said....it's hard to prove. Get him to admit to it in an email or instant message and then you would have proof. There is like an "Army Code of Silence" and they will all lie for each other, even the CO. Definitely do not say anything to the CO until you do have solid proof.

Oh hell yea you can get him in trouble, first of all, soliders really arent supposed to fratrinize with each other, secondly, the army has old values, and they deal harshly with people who violate the code of conduct.

kella l
It depends...if you turned him in then chances are he would be served an article 15 (that's really mean by the way) but just like everything else if you don't tell then noone will know. IF the seperation was legal on paper then no he could not get into trouble.

it depends on his rank and her rank and alot of other factors check out the uniform code for military justice (ucmj) and see what it says.

You can get him in trouble with the military and civil courts! The proof would be DNA testing! If that were done on the child and he is the father - You got him over a barrel!

Go to the JAG office on the base and they could at least provide information to you about the military side!
