hey, im in the d.e.p. program for the navy iv gone through meps and now im just waiting to leave. i have some pretty bad dental problems. like cavitys and root canals that need to be finished and done. im not in pain and can eat fine. i was woundering if when the do my dental exam at basic trainning no matter how bad my teeth are would the disquilify me and send me home or hold me back to do the work? i know i can go through bootcamp with no problem and just fix me teeth after would they let me do that? i can not afford to do the work now. and would rather wait for them to do it for free.

If you got thru meps, then your ok.

NOTE: they will not fix all the problems in basic training.

They will do the minimum work necessary to allow you to complete basic and A School.

Then when you get to your first duty station, they will correct all your problems.

As long as your able to complete basic your in they'll fix your teeth as needed.

Yes during boot camp they will give you a dental exam and fix all that is wrong with them. Depending on the severity they might hold you back for recovery. But that shouldn't hold you back in getting on with your career serving our nation. God Speed. From a former sailor to you our future sailor.
