I saw that there are only two National Guard Special Forces units in the US. If someone doesn't live in a state where the National Guard Special Forces are, can he still join (meaning that he goes from a state to another for the trainings) ?

They two groups 19th SFG (Utah ANG) and 20th SFG (Alabama ANG) have several detachments in a variety of states.
19th: Utah, Washington, West Virginia, Ohio, Rhode Island, Colorado, California and Texas
20th: Alabama, Mississippi, Florida , North Carolina, Illinois,
Kentucky, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts.
Selection and training takes place in North Carolina, so unless you already live there you would have to travel outer state for training. |
