Navy, Army, Air Force Help?

I'm going to talk to a Military recruiter. I would like to know what are some questions I should ask them. Please help.

First of all, congrats on your move to considering the military!

A great website for info is ArmyDrive.com. This site will give you detailed information on what to expect, as well as what you should ask!

Good luck!

Ask them what jobs you would be able to get with your current ASVAB score. Ask if you can get a station of choice. Ask about college benefits. If you want to get a feel about military life here would be a decent place to ask.

When thinking about the services you should pick based on your interests and what your going in for. If you want to go in for excitement and you want a combat job, join Army. If you want education, join Air Force or Navy. If you like planes, join Air Force but if you like ships and water join Navy. Also the Army and Navy will ship you to basic training in about 4 weeks tops after you swear in. The Air Force will wait about 3-6 months to ship you to basic training so if your in a hurry join Navy but if you can wait around for a little while, consider the Air Force. One more rule is that if your recruiters mouth is moving, he's lying. And watch it because they can dance around questions like a politician.

Signing bonus, career options, when you can leave for Boot Camp, setting up insurance for your spouse/children, info about the GI bill- just a few things to ask them. If there's something particular you had in mind as far as your rate then you could take to them about any previous requirements (some require you to have certain college courses completed prior to joining). Good luck with it all!

really that is something you should have in your own head, when i went in i asked how long i would have to serve, how long training is etc. but really you should only ask what you want to, i understand you being worried but i did not prepare any questions i just asked when it came in my head, just try to look confident, and don't look like a scruff but also don't dress to smartly.

Good luck

Caleb,

The questions you should ask are:

1. With my ASVAB scores, what jobs am I qualified for?
2. How soon could I leave?
3. What is the enlistment bonus?
4. What is the advancement rate in the career field?
5. How long is the MOS/A/Tech/AIT School?

I'd begin with those questions.

Well first off, you should visit their websites. Then from there, look around, and read everything you possibly can and i'm positive you will get questions that come to you from reading. You need to know what jobs each service has, and what jobs you are able to get with your ASVAB score, if you don't know what that is your recruiter will tell you about it. Then you need to figure out what you want to do from there and see what service suits you best. Try to get as much information as you can, some recruiters are just used car salesmen.

Good Luck

Job selection, bonuses and how long of a wait to head to boot camp for the branch you are talking too. The recruiter is there to answer basic questions and get the paperwork started. I know that once you start working with one recruiter, other recruiters are not allowed to pursue you.

You can get a lot of info off some websites. Really you need to have an idea of what jobs you might be interested in. All the branches receive the same amount of pay and basic allowances. Always realize that the needs of the military come first.
