Navy Full-Time Support (FTS) Retirement?

Navy Full-Time Support (FTS) Retirement?

Do FTS participants get the typical 20 year active duty retirement or would it be the reservist retirement (benefits at 60)? I have 8 years active duty and 1 year reserves. FTS is my only option for going "active" again. Also, are there any other major differences between the two I should be aware of? Thanks in advance.

FTS billets are few. They are also subject to the whims of the Command's budget. Those slots come and go. It is possible to stay until retirement, but don't count on it. When on FTS, you recieve active duty pay and allowances. Your time counts as active duty. |
