Navy Operation Specialist For Those Who Had This Job?

How was it like having this job with a family. I leave for boot camp on july 20,2009 and i have a wife and a 2 year old daughter. Im only 20 and im joining to support my country and to have a better life for us.

Well OS do a lot of bridge work on ships so expect that when the ship goes out on cruise, you will go with it and you could be gone for 6 months or more. You could get a shore base posting but I would be prepared that it might be the case.
