if I signed up for the Navy tomorrow how fast could they deploy me?

I didn't mean deploy sorry how long would I have to wait till they send me to boot camp

You have to complete basic training which is 8 weeks and you won't leave right away. Expect a month or more to wait before leaving. Then you will go to the A School for the rating you pick and learn your job.
Then you're assigned to a base/ship and will be on their deployment schedule.
EDIT: You pick a rating, "job," at MEPS. The career counseler there will look for open seats in the school for that rating. Based on THAT date your "ship date" is calculated as 8 weeks before, to allow for basic training and voila you have your leave day.
Every job is different and they change everyday. I hope this helps. |
