It is my personal ambition to become an operative of Naval Special Warfare, however I have recently been looking into MarSOC while talking to Marine Recruiters. I am only a sophomore in High School, I am in the JROTC program, I work out with the Marines, and I am a talented, well-organized, highly motivated multi-sport athlete. Special Warfare is the only thing I view as worth attaining in life. I want to know which training is the most extrenuous, and which program is the most challenging- as well as the missions they run (Do the MARSOC Marines participate in Black Ops Campaigns?)<*>PLEASE RESPOND ONLY IF YOU ARE A SEAL, MARSOC COMMANDO, OR PERHAPS ANOTHER SPECIAL WARFARE/SPECIAL FORCES OPERATIVE// NO CIVILIANS.<*>

I am not some "ordinary individual" or an "average joe" as I have already outlined for Hugo. I am an elite athlete who trains hard and has endured the toughest situations, most psychologically degrading and imposing actions, and I am sure in the path I have chosen to pursue. FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION, I refuse to be defeated or out-performed by anyone, or be the one left in the dust// NEVER!!! My resting heart is 37, my mile time is 4:39/ 8 mile is 46:37, I am an excellent swimmer, and I have the most muscle endurance I am aware of (in my school). As well I am still a sophomore, and both an outstanding athlete, and outstanding performer academically (all honors AP classes, highest test taker in almost all). I plan to go to a military college and continue my training there. Now that my personal excelleration is out of the way, please give me answers only on MarSOC's training. I do not care for your oppinions in regards to this question, and i find them disrespectful.

If you view "Special Warfare" as the only thing you feel is worth attaining in life... then just stop right now. No offense, but you will not know whether you have what it takes for not until you get there. There have been many people with the same viewpoints as you, and have failed.
Both SEALs and MARSOC go through rigorous training. I suggest you head on over to http://www.marines.mil/unit/marsoc/Pages/recruiting/Step1-Contact.aspx
Before you get into MARSOC you'll have to have at least 2 deployment under your belt. If your goal is to join MARSOC, first focus on becoming a Marine.
To the people who have said MARSOC isn't deploying right now, your wrong. I've been in this craphole for quite sometime. Also, yes, MARSOC is doing foreign internal defense, but that is mainly 2nd and 3rd MSOB. The 1st MSOB are already serving with ANA commandos that have been trained. Currently the 1st MSOB is head of a Combined Joint Special Operation Task Force in Afghanistan.

MARSOC is mostly conducting foreign internal defense right now. You have to have gone through at least 1 combat deployment, be an NCO and meet other qualifications before trying out. |

i dont think marsoc still deploys... they got kicked out of afghanistan by the US Army on their first deployment after their first mission for being "undisciplined cowboys"(those were the words used to describe them) |
