When I graduate high school I want to join the navy then join the SEAL program. But I am confused.
When I sign up for the Navy do I go into boot camp and then choose a program or do I choose the program(Navy SEALS) I want to go into and I start boot camp for that.(Right when I sign up for the navy).

you contract into the navy for any rate, While you are in the Delayed Entry Program you go to a NSW Mentor and take the PST (run, swim, pull-ups, push-ups, sit-ups), if you pass with the required times you return to MEPS and recontract into the SEAL Contract.
When you leave for boot camp you enter a specwar division and attend dive motivation pt every morning. Upon graduation you receive no leave and then attend Pre-BUD/s across the street from the RDC in Great Lakes for 8 weeks. There you will run and swim and be introduced to log pt and experience everything you will at BUD/s. Pre-BUD/s is there to help you make it through BUD/s, while there you have a Strength coach, Swim coach, Run Coach, Speed Coach, and Nutritionist. If you leave there having done everything they tell you to do, you will leave looking like a greek god.
After pre-BUD/s you are given no leave and ship to Coronado to class-up for BUD/s. It is 6 months long, and if you dont know what is entailed at BUD/s then you dont need to be a SEAL.
After BUD/s you then attend 3 weeks at Army Airborne School at Ft. Benning Georgia. After that you begin SQT. Seal Qualification Training. This is 10 times more rigorous than BUD/S It last for 19 weeks and upon completion you are awarded the Trident and NEC 5326 (Combat Diver/ SEAL)
Once you report to your team you then undergo 18 months of pre-deployment training followed by 6 months of overseas deployment.
Minimum of 34 months of training before you are a combat deployable SEAL. |

You should talk to a recruiter about this. He/She would have all the info.
From what I saw in the Navy was that one would enter BUDS after boot camp. Many times guys waited to attempt BUDS training later in their 1st or 2nd enlistment.
If you choose this path know that very few make thru BUDS training. Good luck. |

You must have another specialty first. You'll have to apply for SEAL. You may or may not get selected, it depends on the other applicants and how many slots they have open for school. Good luck. |

Speak to a recruiter. they have a SEAL challenge that will allow you to be part of their special operations boot camp division. You dont have to go to an "A" school anymore because BUD/S is an "A" school |
