Im going to enlist in the navy on my 17th b-day and was wondering if they were goin to drug test me periodically even though i will not be participating in anything navy related. I will just be going to high school like normal. Please leave age out of the answer and relate it to active duty or not.

Will they dug test me if i have nit been to boot camp yet and im only 17

You will be tested when you go to MEPS.
Then maybe again in Basic and anytime they want after that.
But, if yoiu use drugs while in DEP
And you need a security clearance
And they find out during the background check.
Your toast.

Your enlisting in to the Navy but your not doing anything Navy related? Why wouldn't they drug test you? They drug test every single person who is trying to enlist regardless of age.
Why do you care about afterward?
So your planning on using drugs after enlisting before going to boot camp? Are you stoned right now or just stupid? |

Yes, you will be drug tested at MEPS, and you will be drug tested in Basic Training, and yes, every command has mandatory sweeps of all personnel every six months, along with random drug testing monthly. Basically what I am saying to you is that you better quit smoking whatever it is you are smoking. You will get caught! |

You get drug tested during MEPS, then you get drug tested about two weeks or a month before you go to basic training. Then I think they randomly test people while your in the Navy, i'm not sure about that one though.
Why are you going to be joining our Navy and you're freaking out about the drug test?
why don't you just stop doing drugs, and grow up.. your deciding if your going to be fighting for this country. |
