One of the best programs is called Seaman to Admiral or STA-21. You must be active duty enlisted. Basically you will get paid your current rate and still be eligible for promotion, while going to a civilian four year university. So for example, say your rate is boatswains mate and you are pay grade E-4. You apply for the program, get picked up, still get your monthly checks and everything, and instead of doing duty at your command, you will be going to college like a normal person. They drill with the local ROTC unit. They still have to keep in shape (ie they must pass pft). It's very similar to ROTC, except that they are enlisted rather than civilian. once finished with your degree, you get commissioned as O-1 (ensign) into the community of a) your choice and b) needs of the navy.

Theres also a program called NUPOC, its specifically for students wanting to go into the nuclear power field. It's not for active duty but if you are student its a pretty good deal. You must be in your third year of college at a four year university and be finishing with your degree in no longer than 36 months for technical majors and 24 months for non-technical majors (ie engineering vs communications). You get payed at E-6 while you finish your schooling. You have to check in with your recruiter from time to time, and just make sure you don't gain excessive weight. You go to school like normal, you don't drill, attend pt or anything like that. once you finished with your degree, you get commissioned and start at O-1 (ensign). Once commissioned, the applicant will become a nuclear power officer.

If you wanna find out more information, either google STA-21 or NUPOC or ask an OFFICER recruiter, don't talk to enlisted recruiters (speaking from personal experience). Hope this helps.

You have to have a 4-year Bachelor's degree before even considering going the officer route.

John
Lots of things come to mind; Jesus said "My Kingdom is not of this world". This tells me a lot, because the military - weather it is Serbian or Bolivian IS part of the organized "world".

Jesus also said "go into your room, and in secret pray to The Father, who sees in secret, and IN SECRET He will recompense you". Usually, the official ceremonies are just that: official ceremonies. Yahweh - Christ's God does not need any of those ones.

One of the Apostles said "what relationship is there between darkness and the light"? If you are praying to the Almighty God - The Father - whose name Jesus gave the world to know when He taught us how to pray and said "Hallowed be Thy Name", you definitively are not praying to some god named allah. What is a christian doing mixed up in the darkness? He or she has no business there in the first place.

Paul - one of the most known Apostles - said "for the things the nations (of the world) sacrifice, they do not sacrifice to God (the God of Abraham, Jacob and Jesus)". So?

Praying to Him is a very, very personal thing; AND you should ask in the name of Jesus whatever you ask for. Any 'chaplain' (however great or exmplar his/her duties maybe, has to understand that praying is NOT official. God has no respect for mankind's offices. He could not care less about the US military or any military, btw; the book of Revelation says that He will prepare a "feast for the birds of the heaven" and He will feed them with the flesh of all the generals and big wigs. Why would He do that if He respected the institutions?

What do you think He is gonna do when He brings up His Kingdom here? Have you got any idea of what is the "foreign policy" of the Kingdom of God?Think about it. This thing is NOT an exercise in public relations, like the office of the chaplains in any army.

We have to wake up and smell the roses, soon, guys. Learn what the truth is. Again, this is only my view of it all. What is coming we can not stop.
