Need info on Parris Island USMC Training!!?

Also after graduation where will he go...what is his obligations after graduation and what training is still left?! I live in SC so traveling isn't fair and i have some knowledge of military life...i dated a midshipman at USNA for about 6 months...just wondering how Parris Island works!! While your bf's stay at the lovely Paris Island MCRD, he will have 2 chances to contact you via phone. The first time will be the second he gets there to inform you he has arrived safely and the second time will be when he gets close to graduation. There are a few exceptions, such as he becomes the company "iron man" and the DIs may reward him by making a phone call home but they are rare and you shouldn't expect that to happen. As for mail, there is a slight delay in receiving mail but he will also be able to write to you. On the first piece of mail should be the address for his platoon and base.

After Parris Island, he will receive 10 days of leave and go on to MCT (Marine Combat Training) at Camp Geiger. Then he will go on straight from MCT to his MOS school (which will differ in location) for a certain amt of time, which also depends on his MOS.

To go onto becoming an officer he will have to first get a college degree (4 yrs) and go through OCS (Officer Candidate School). He then will have to go to PLC or OCC to get his commission as an officer in the USMC. I believe he will have to go to MOS school again if he decides to change his MOS as an officer. Good luck and Semper Fi.

EDIT: After boot camp, he is enlisted and not an officer.

You can plan on having very limited contact with him as he will have a lot of things that he needs to concentrate on and learn. He will not get liberty until close to his graduation and even then it be very limited. Where and for how long he will go after basic depends on the MOS he chooses. He will occasionally be allowed to make phone calls but this is extremely limited and he will be permitted to write letters when he has the time. You have to remember that the training he receives is a lot of information in a short amount of time and it's in his best interest to concentrate on this.
