i need to go somewhere in life, i need to do it, but just thinking about leaving all of my friends, and just thinking how it will be in four years just scares me? whats everyone like after they finish college?
any advice?

You need to make a list of pros and cons of the situation, and honest list. You also have to decide what is important to you.
I don't think you would regret going for 4 years, heck you may even stay on longer. If they are going off to college next year, you will get done with your first contract about the same time they are graduating.
I know it scary, but I would never trade my adventure for anything. I have done and seen things I would have never as a civilian (not all great, but that is life). I have gone to college and earned a couple of degrees, and not paid for a dime of it. I never worry about if I will get laid off, be able to pay for a doctors visit, have a place to live, or allot of other things.
If these people are truly your friends, they will still be even after college. You can write them, call, and visit on leave. Yup they are going to grow up while in college, but so are you while in the military.
Good luck with your decision. Remember to do what is right for you, and no one else. |
