Okay, if i were to be say a corrections specialist it says I would have to be 19 years of age, ill be 19 before i graduate AIT so does that count or would I have to wait? and would i 100% absolutely have to live in barracks?or could i just get a place on base?

Marines do not go through AIT. That's the Army. As for your living accommodations, you will have to live in the barracks if you are a) below E-5 in rank or b) not married. If you pick up E-5 or get married you will be able to live in base housing or off base. If you live off base you will receive BAH (Basic Allowance for Housing) which is extra funds from the military toward your rent. The amt that you receive will depend on the state and county of your base.
