So many of you believe in the war in Iraq. Ok....Tell me ol wise ones. How many Iraqi poeple did 9-11? Where is the WMD? why did it take the United States 3 years and 9 months to win World War two but we've been in Iraq and Afganistan for almost 4 years and we are no where near winning. Why? something is messed up. Remember we were told this war would be over in about 8 months? Also!! How come millions of you bright young people ( Ages 18 to 28)are not in line to help Mr Bush with his war? Why aren't you in the military? You believe in the war? Then let me see you on CNN news over in Iraq. Let me see you walk the walk and talk the talk. Get moving now!!

I wholeheartedly agree with your skepticism. There is no purpose to the war that we are fighting. It is a quagmire, and the one who got us there in the first place is too proud to admit that.
Sadly, in George Bush Sr's Memiors, he specificially said that it was a bad idea to invade Iraq because something like this would happen. |

It is not the people of the United States, it is a misaligned government that is responsible for the mess we are in, last poll that I seen Support for the war was down to 29%, those are the die hard misinformed repuglicans that really think that Mr. Bush is doing a fine job. Need I tell you that they are mentally deficient and in need of psychological help. |

No the US did not mess up by going into Iraq. We liberated those people from a dictator who spent millions on his houses and his people did without food or medical care. If you watch CNN, you are stupid as well as dumb. The Associated Press, CNN, and Fox News are all liars, as are you.
I have been to Iraq 3 times since 2003, and I can assure you that those people want us there. I have walked the walk and talk the talk for over 18 years in the US Army. You are a coward just like the others that kill innocent people because you believe if you kill enough of us, we will leave.
Well you are dead wrong! Again the US never wanted to conquer Iraq, just liberate it. Most of the population of Iraq is uneducated and believes what you terrorist say.
My advice to you is, RUN AND HIDE, RUN AND HIDE. Cause when you are found, because hell is to go for you. |

I'm with you....I have witnesses that could tell you I opposed this from the beginning! All it's done is create an even bigger mess, as predicted.
What happened to the good ol' days when the leader of a country would ride into war with his men? If that were a requirement nowadays, there'd be far fewer disputes me thinks. Either that or the disputes that did occur wouldn't last nearly as long. |

Read "The Assassin's Gate" for a good description of how the Republicans wanted to fight a war but thought we could get out of Iraq quickly once it was over. They planned the war well, but didn't plan for the peace. Fighting a conventional war is far, far different from keeping a country from falling apart in a civil war. Since we can't bring real peace to Iraq, we are losing the support of the ordinary Iraqi, who is tired of the constant danger. |

Ok oh wise one, known facts no Iraqis in 9-11, nope there weren't any WMD's found. Tired of hearing those arguments. We went here to with a agenda of over throwing a dictator that had ripped away the freedoms and the rights of the citizens of Iraq. Not to mention stop a mass murder that was openly objecting to the UN. The votes of the UN were adversely affected by the veto power of 3 of the main arms dealers to Iraq; China, Russia, and France. Do some history and you will see that Iraq was a completely different country before Saddam was put into power. Yep we help put him here, and it is our responsibility to remove him. There are many other hidden agendas in this war such as oil, Halliburton and I am sure some revenge for his father. The point is we are here now, can't change the past. I am sure if you could you wouldn't be prior military. Since we are here we might as well complete what we have started. Glad you brought up WWII, we left there as soon as the fighting was done and allowed countries left in dire turmoil to try and rebuild on their own. Maybe if we stayed the wall would have never been built, more war criminals would have been apprehended and put to justice. Even some aspects of the Cold war could have been prevented if we would have put a little effort into rebuilding what we destroyed. As I have said before I am active duty military currently serving in Iraq. I don't agree with the premise why we came here to start this fight. I also know that the majority of the forces we are currently fighting are not Iraqi people; they are... say it with me Insurgents. As for Afghanistan that is a completely different story, we are currently fighting terrorist cells that were initially trained and funded by us. Not only that, they do have key ties to the events at 9-11. It is another skeleton in this country's closet that we need to fix and repent for. We may not always be fighting for the proper reasons, but my job isn't to attack and or kill. I am here to protect the Iraqi people as well as the coalition forces currently fighting here to help rebuild a society that we helped destroy. Freedom for anyone is always worth fighting for. As for being in the news... welp here you go. http://the.honoluluadvertiser.com/article/2006/Apr/17/ln/FP604170349.html |

Sh*t I be over there with my husband if I hadn't got pregnant!!! I had every intention to deploy. I'm a proud American citizen and I was a proud American soldier, and I'd go over there right now if they wanted me to. You were former military, you know how it feels. So why the heck are you blackmailing the soldiers now????
My husband is deployed to Afghanistan right now! Even though I know that he's doing he's job to protect our freedom, I would like him home!!! (I know that this is completely different statement from the above statement but that's how i feel.) |

Why do you insist on tying Iraq to 9/11? Only you do this to put up a strawman to knock down. Do you realize how ignorant that is? I suppose it gets you cheers from the peanut-head gallery. Iraq was a state sponsoring terrorism. It had numerous contacts with Al Qaeda and supported them, including having Al Qaeda training camps. This is a war on terrorists and their sponsors, not on Bin Laden.
The WMD, which you have doubtlessly been made aware of many times, were mostly destroyed, as verified by the UN inspectors. However, not all were verified destroyed, nor were the WMD labs and production facilities destroyed, per the UN resolution. There is some evidence the remaining WMD may have been taken to Syria while the coalition forces were deploying on the Iraqi border.
And how can you say we're not winning? Both Afghanistan and Iraq have democratically elected governments, have armed forces that are growing and inflicting damage on the terrorists, and the peoples of those countries have freedom and hope they've never had before. Fighting a real army and fighting insurgents are completely different things, and cannot be compared. The Iraqi army was completely destroyed in no time.
And which orifice are you pulling this '8 months' thing from? Sounds like the Clinton deployment to the Balkans, home by Christmas bus still there 8 years later. President Bush said this war against terrorism would last for a long time, many years, under many administrations.
I'm sorry you don't believe that oppressed people should be liberated, that bloody murdering tyrants should be overthrown, or that people should be able to live free.
So why do you aid and abet our enemies? You seem to wish harm and disaster and death as a means to advance your party into power. That's sad. Truly sad. |

Yes the United States did mess up by going into Iraq. The news this morning reported the majority of Americans do not support the war. I'm not sure where that will go but it can't be good. |

1. THE IRAQI GOVT. GAVE DIRECT SUPPORT TO AL QUEDA
2. (STOP ASKING QUESTIONS TO THINGS THAT I HAVE ALREADY SHOWED YOU). WHAT HAS NOT BEEN MOVED TO SYRIA IS RIGHT HERE: Found in Iraq:
* 1.77 metric tons of enriched uranium
* 1,500 gallons of chemical weapons agents
* 17 chemical warheads containing cyclosarin (a nerve agent five times more deadly than sarin gas)
* Over 1,000 radioactive materials in powdered form meant for dispersal over populated areas
* Roadside bombs loaded with mustard and “conventional” sarin gas, assembled in binary chemical projectiles for maximum potency

4. MILITARY IS VOLUNTARY, AND RECRUITMENT IS AT AN ALL TIME HIGH. THEY ARE TURNING PEOPLE DOWN FOR MINOR THINGS BECAUSE OF THE VOLUME.
5. TRY WATCHING A DIFFERENT NEWS CHANNEL. TRY FOX NEWS FOR ONE WEEK, SERIOUSLY, AND TELL ME WHICH CHANNEL IS MORE BIAS.
6. YOU ARE DENSE! YOU CLAIM TO HAVE SERVED IN THE MILITARY. I WOULDN'T DOUBT IF YOU WERE IN KERRY'S UNIT. YOU KNOW, THE ONE HE WAS IN FOR 3 MONTHS AND SAID HE KILLED BABIES AND BURNED VILLAGES. |

As in my other reply to your disgraceful comment on marines, I say you are again illogical.
Don't you know we could have "won" the war in Iraq in a matter of seconds? And likely without the loss of a single american? How is that possible? Was Bush so stupid to not use that capability?
For your information, Bush did comment on the possibility as to not exclude the use of nuclear (he usually mispronounces it as "nukiller" LOL) force. So yes, we could have killed a lot of Iraqis and yet save our troops lives. But we also know that it would not have been popular nor politically correct.
Your belief of lack of WMD is laughable. There have been substantial proof of nerve gas and all sorts of WMD prior to the Iraq war, even by the so called UN inspection teams. The fact of the matter was that the burden of proof that all such WMD was destroyed or rid of was on the head of Saddam. It really was an ultimatum that he provide such evidence or the coalition may choose to attack.
What is really sad is that "americans" like yourself are misguided by the lack of judgement in these true facts. Instead, you focus on the dead americans because we play fair by trying hard to avoid killing innocent Iraqis. We spend millions of dollars to create smart bombs that try to attack military targets instead of "carpet bomb" with "dumb" bombs. We try to do the right thing to save innocent Iraqis instead of massacre them as seen in past wars. Never in history has there been so much restraint in avoiding killing innocent lives. Yet, those like you believe liberal media that merely attacks their disgust on the present administration. If you really were a veteran, you were lucky that yuo did not die with your level of intelligence. |

There are also many that don't believe the US should be in Iraq. We are fighting a battle of ethics and beliefs over there. Is it right to try to change the way other people live because th US sees it as being different and wrong?
The US is playing God and has been for a long time. It's wrong. Who are we to judge what is right and what is wrong? |
