One month to prepare for BCT...enough time?

Lately, I've been overwhelmed with school and organizing the rest of my life and work, and you could say I haven't developed a military sense of discipline. Therefore, I put physically preparing for US Army BCT on the backburner. Stupid idea, and now I'm kicking myself for it.
I have a month left before I ship out and I was wondering if that is enough time to get into relatively decent condition (specifically running) for BCT.
I'm a female and can do push ups and sit ups just fine (as well as flutterkicks, the different kinds of push ups, etc.), however I'm incredibly nervous for the running portion of BCT. I'm afraid I won't be able to run fast enough or long enough. I can currently run about a 10:00 mile, and I can run up to two miles before I hit the "wall."
Is there enough time to prepare? (I'll be preparing anyway), and if so, what should I be doing? I find that I don't push myself to run fast enough because I get stuck at a slow, comfortable pace. How can I pace myself more quickly?

Yes, most people don't do anything so anything you do will get you ready more then most.

If you are worried about the Run do this: run 3-5 miles (start at 3 and work up to five add a mile every week or something) every other day (every day if you can), if you cant run the whole way walk but finish the 3-5 miles. Improving the run is easy, just run the more you do the better.

Memorize the ranks and your general orders you can look them up on line but you will be glad you already knew them when you get there.

Good Luck

Don't worry the DI's will motivate you.

You usually run in ability groups. Start with the slowest group and try to move up to the middle one.

When you do 4 miles or more you are usually at a 9 minutes mile pace.

This site will help you out as well. http://www.military.com/military-fitness/

If you push yourself hard enough you'll have enough time.

Try HIIT training to increase your speed (run for 1 min, sprint for 30 seconds, any variation of this). Also when you hit your wall at 2 miles, just keep going to 3 miles, 4 miles, 5 miles, etc. It'll help you get over hitting that wall at 2 miles, plus they're going to make you go farther than 2 miles in BCT, so you mine as well be more prepared.

You'll be fine. The slowest group in Basic runs at a fast shuffle; so slow you almost trip on the people in front of you. You're endurance and speed will ramp up quickly once you're there. Keep doing what you're doing.

This should improve your speed.

If it makes you feel more at ease I shipped 3 days after I enlisted. If you haven't yet you should focus more on memorizing your Soldiers Creed, General Orders, Chain of Command/Rank, Army Song and Ethos.
