So my husband is getting stationed in Hawaii, and I've been told that I have to get an overseas physical. My question is do I have to go to the military hospital or can I go to my doctor I go to now?

Yes although Hawaii is a state it IS considered and OVERSEAS assignment. SO YOU MUST HAVE AN OVERSEAS PHYSICAL.

You can use the doctor you're going to now. Just get the paperwork from the EFMP office or you can download it and fill out the sponsor portions then print it before taking it to your doctor. If you have questions on how to do the sponsor part of the questionnaire you can email me and I will help you with it. |

Standard physical records from a regular yearly exam including a pap smear done within the last 6 months is all you need. If you have a civilian PCM then take the records from the exam. If you have a military PCM then they should know what to do for it. Tripler can handle just about anything as a military hospital so hardly any gets denied going to Hawaii. |

Your best bet would be to go to a military hospital since they have all the info that they need in order to help you get screened. You can go the civilian route but you need to have all the right paperwork (available at the overseas screening office) to ensure that you get all the answers to the questions that the military needs to know. There is more to the physical than just "a physical" They are screening you to ensure that they have the medical facilities available at your future location for any type of condition you may have.

Hawaii is the 50th State why do you need a physical to travel in the states.
I would guess you could go to your own Dr. if that is really required. |
