Patton was considered to be one of or the best tank commander/if im wrong correct me. Later became a General and lead Us forces into Africa to chase Rommel out of the continent. My question is could Patton have chased Rommel out himself without Montgomery??? And was Patton really left out of the history book?

Not at the beginning. The troops that he took over were poorly trained and not ready for the fight. Once he got established and whipped those men into fighting shape he (and they) became a force to be reckoned with. During the Sicily campaign he really came into his own and continued that surge with his actions after D-Day
