Permanent Custody for my daughter?

I was with my ex-boyfriend of 4 years and we have a 1 year old daughter together in 08 we split up and my daughter and I started to live with my grandma he than tricked me and told me that he was going to drop off her highchair but instead he took off with her at that time I was nursing.He stayed with her for 2 weeks until we went to court and both of us got joint custody months pass by and we decide to work things out until one night he got angry and started to hit me I left the next day to the women's shelter I couldn't take my daughter with me cause I didn't want her to be in that kind of environment I was there for 2 weeks seeking legal advice I filed charges of assault on him I told the police that he has my baby and wouldn't let me have her so I left to live with my grandma I got a job started working all that stuff I got an apartment and I met my husband soon after he's in the military and very supportive of me he knows the whole situation I just need to know what's going to happen once J.A.G is involved. Desperate help please any advice

the military has exactly NOTHING to do with it, JAG will not get involved in any way shape or form. this is strictly between you, the ex and the courts.

JAG cannot get involved with domestic/civil issues. at th every most they can refer you to alocal OFF BASE CIVILIAN attorney who handles custody disputes.

if I am reading this right your ex and you are fighting over custody of your child? JAG has nothing to do with it they may give you some names of civilian lawyers but they are military lawyers can not get involved in civil disputes
