anyone here know if you put portable camcorders like VHoldR to youre helmets while on duty, like in iraq?

You can, but it is not recommended. You will be distracted by operating the camera when you should be doing your job. But if you need a good helmet cam:

Some units are using a digital helmet cam when conducting raids for the same reason that police use them. They have cut down on the number of false claims and allegations from what I have heard from guys returning.

I have used the above system in a military support to civil authorities roll and I think it is the $hit.

Hell if you use the small arms adaptor from your nods kit ( if you have 14's) you can put a little camcorder right on one of the front rails on your weapon
