I suppose they do have the right, though in poor taste. They're also protected by other laws that prevent the justified *** beating they should recieve from such a cold hearted and tasteless display, although I'm still sure that many authorities would have the tact to overlook such an appropriate response upon somebody taking such deplorable action.

I'm asking because I have protested for more than 40 years and never once seen what you described.

I protested when the department of labor wanted to make churches pay the choir for singing.

I protested when the US made the Catholic church a Nation and appointed a diplomat to the Vatican.

I protested for living wages. on and on because it is or constitutional right to protest the things that concern us.

Never saw a funeral protest. or a Soldier protest.

From infancy and beyond we protest about everything. We may dislike a certain food, a certain beverage, a certain type of toy, music, homework, how people treat us,,etc. We all have our likes and dislikes. Depending how we have been raised, we may be more concerned with what is right than with what is wrong. We protest in our own ways against our parents, teachers, authority figures, friends or enemies.that is what makes us all unique. I do not believe though in protesting at a funeral. Why that supposed Christian Church did that is beyond me. I had a brother who was serving in the Army during the Vietnam War. Yes, I protested against that war as often as I could. I never heard anyone call my brother a baby killer until he came home from Nam, and the people who calle him that were not protesters but older men that had served in the military in a previous war. I marched and protested against the Iraq War long before it started. I learned from WW2 vets, Vietnam vets,etc. what they really felt about the war that they had fought in. I was told horror stories from vets at the veteran hospitals. My brother upon his return from Vietnam told me that many GI's knew that they weren't there for the people, but for the War Profiteers. A WW2 vet that I have talked with told me that they were protecting trees for the Palmolive Company. I've had the good fortune of talking with different young men, returning from or on leave from Iraq and Afghanistan. The majority really don't want to be there and tell me there own horror stories. I had a Marine break down and cry about being there. You can believe what you like but I can guarantee you that most don't want to be there and feel as if this administration has taken advantage of them. Even the veteran's from various wars are angry and disgusted. They know what these young men and woman are going through. So, please understand why in fact mothers, fathers, grandparents,son's and daughters, aunts and uncle's, teachers and preachers are marching against this WAR ON TERROR..Not to degrade our wonderful soldiers; but to show the powers that be that we wish to have things solved in a peaceful way if possible. Not by war and brutality. Not by the killing of our youth that have just as many dreams as all of you. Good jobs, nice car's, lovers, friends, enjoyment, marriage, children and life. As I previously said protests at funerals are wrong. Goodness, it's bad enough to lose someone you love and have the knowlege that they suffered in pain, yes it hurts to be killed. Then as they lay dying with no one really there to comfort them, I'm sure there thoughts flood with memories of home as they agonizingly slipaway.. Then to have people who are supposed to be compassionate because of their supposed Cristianity do what they did is the worst that one can do. Protest funerals NO Protest for Life YES

Sadly, we cannot assure that the freedoms protected by the brilliant members of our military will be used wisely and correctly by the masses.

Through liberalism/socialism, political correctness, and our public school indoctrination system, people have been brainwashed into believing that all the world's problems are the fault of the U.S. Ignorance is the curse that will, if not squashed, eventually be the fall of this country.

I PERSONALLY THINK THEY ARE DIRESPECTFUL, RUDE, OBNOXIOUS, AND ARE NOT AMERICAN. WE AS CITIZENS OF THE US, HAVE TO SUPPORT OUR PPL, OUR COUNTRY, IF NOT WE, THEN WHO. FREEDOM OF SPEECH IS EVERYTHING, BUT ALL AT ITS APROPRIATE MOMENT, AND A SOLDIERS FUNERAL IS NOT ONE. I totally agree with you and find this highly offensive. But I believe that I can put myself in their shoes, as nutty as they are to figure it out.

These people have such a strong but warped faith in their god, that they believe he is punishing people for the direction they believe the U.S. is heading, further to the left, becoming more sinful all the time. They want to warn people, and are probably hoping things will change, where people will become more chaste and religious and serious, instead of what they consider to be sinful and blasphemous.

Some people have no respect for anyone living let alone the dead.
I think that if they persist in this that there should be a clause in the law to let the families of the soldiers shoot the people sight on seen.
No Ifs no ands and no buts about it.
These people have lost a child a mother a father or a brother or sister. They do not need any more grief than what they are already experiencing.

Most don't realize that the soldiers and families of fallen soldiers are taking it personnally. They are there to protest against the war and to show what happens to young men and women when they go off to war. When I was in the Navy at a Nuclear Missle Sub Base they always protested outside the gates and it pissed me off to no end cause I thought that they were protesting against the soldiers and sailors there but when I was stuck in traffic one morning(caused by the protesters) I talked to them and they told me what was up.

Those protesters can not even be put in the same group as humans, They are worst than animals.
But what makes it funny is they think they are all going to heaven. ( they will be in hell with the pig scum who drove a car full of bombs into my son's 7 ton truck in Iraq )
Also this Marine mom would love to see them come to my town and protest.

I feel they have NO rights to be at a funeral protesting.......that is the most disrespectful thing a person can do....next to robbing graves. These people who protest there..have no regards for others, the families of the fallen soldier/cop.......
There are other ways to protest....but a funeral is not the place to do it.....
Soldiers are not trained killers, its like saying a police officer is a trained killer........they are not......
they do their duty, to protect and serve.....which is what they are doing......
they protect America from their enemies, and serve their country so the morons who protest at these events can do that without getting shot.......
if they were trained killers, do you think these protesters would be showing up at a military funeral.......where there are weapons....i really dont think so...

they don't. or they shouldn't, anyway. there should be a law in every state preventing protesters from coming within so many yards of funerals. these people need to have respect for the dead.

It should be against the law to do that to any family . If they don't like the war and are against it , then protest to Bush or Congress .

Hey coming from a family of military people if you ever God forbid have to go to a funeral for a fallen hero, You can contact me. I have seen the signs saying "God hates you" Thank God for IED's. When some one in my small town lost their son the whole town showed up and surrounded the funeral with people holding up the American flag so those protesters couldn't see any thing. I think they are cowards standing being their rights. No one they want to hold on to their rights so badly. They can't be jailed for being stupid. I don't care if they do call themselves Americans They aren't MY Americans.

If lost someone, even in this immoral war, I would not want the funeral to be disrupted. I would probably ask to protesters to join with me mourning another unnecessary loss, but protesting by wearing ribbons or something in that order so that the solemnity of the proceedings will not be disturbed.

Quite honestly, they're ignorant fools who have no
respect for anything. They should be happy to live in a
free country and remember who kept it that way and died for
it. These people and I firmly believe that, at some time in
their lives get exactly what they deserve. And for desecrating
memorials they should put them into a uniform and send them to
Iraq for a month; maybe then they will appreciate what they are doing over there.

Some see soldiers as trained killers. I personally think you need to be slightly mentally ill to actualyl want to go out and kill people but thats me. The Anti-war coalition, which im a part of, protest at funerals to make a point. We dont want more people dying, ours or theirs.
