My husband and I are having a few issues. I really want to work on it and I feel that we can fix our marriage. Problem is my husband has left and is staying at the barracks with a guy that thinks married men should do whatever they want and is taking my husband out drinking. So instead of anything getting fixed it is just getting worse. I have pretty much left him alone not calling or texting unless he has made contact first. I fear that if things don't start getting talked about soon things will never get better. He has been gone since Thursday night and he is now broke because he spent all his money on drinking. If he continues to hangout with the guy he is staying with I don't think there will be any hope, anytime he has ever started hanging out with this guy our relationship has suffered.
Anytime we have ever had disagreements either I or him worked on the problems never both of us which of course has never solved anything. We have never really been in a place were we could really work things out and now we are, we have been through a lot of stuff and have come through it, stuff a lot harder to overcome then this.
Is there any way that we could have to take marriage counseling? Is there anything that I could do to try and fix this?

Counseling isn't going to do any good if I go by myself. I am not saying it is all his fault, I know it is both of us. I already know what all the problems are, and I am fixing my side of the problems but I cant fix his too.
I know that my husband is responsible for his own actions but he is very easily influenced. It doesn't help any that he is talking about the problems with people that are not married and do not want to be married.
Example: He never drank when he was home even if we had alcohol in the house, he has even told me that he doesn't like drinking because he doesn't like how he gets when he drinks. Since Thursday night he has spent around $200 on alcohol.

The military has many different kinds of counseling, including marriage counseling, open for soldiers and their families. You could contact ACS or the company FRG and inquire about it to them.
The military is far more concerned with their soldiers finances than with their marital problems. If your husband is in fact broke and cant pay for rent, bills, and food his command will look at him much harder. |

I don't know which branch your husband is in, but in the AF, I would recommend that you contact his First Sergeant about your concerns.
There are marriage counselors available which can be paid through Tricare. The mental health department of your hospital can help you with that.
Also, I recommend that you ensure your husband is paying support for you. His dependent rate BAQ is paid to him for your off base/post housing. If he is staying on base, he is not entitled to it. Also, he needs to continue to be responsible for all his dependents.
Just because he is staying with an irresponsible *** doesn't absolve him of his responsibilities. |

First off your husband is responsible for his own actions even if his friend is influencing him.
You can suggest counseling even if he doesn't want to go try some counseling for yourself. You can try the chaplian if you want or try this site...http://www.militaryonesource.com/skins/MOS/home.aspx
Counseling can still help you sort things out even if you thing you can be yourself.
If he is this way maybe your better off without him. If he can be so easily influenced.
Well he still has to support you but if you don't complain or get help than nothing is going to get solved.
