Question about enlisting as an officer?

My husband is planning to join the Army but wants to go in as an officer. He is 38 credits shy of his BA and 31. He scored 115 on his ASVAB and wants to go not only the officer route but SF ( age permitting) or army aviation as a warrant officer is another option he is considering. He does not want to finish school then enlist because he is concerned about his age. Is there any way for him to enlist now and recieve pay and benefits while finishing his degree so he can go in as a second lieutenant or attend OCS without a full BA?

You don't need a degree to be a Warrant Officer. But, you DO have to have been in the Enlisted side for a while. Upon reaching the pay grade of E-5, a soldier can put in a package for the Warrant Officer program. If he is selected, he can go on to fly. Just has to pay attention to his paperwork. With that much college, he should be able to get E-2 - E-3 starting off.

There are also programs to assist Soldiers in transition programs from enlisted to officer. Your, and his, best bet is to sit down and speak with an Army recruiter to weigh the benefits of enlisting now, versus being denied later.

ASVAB is a pecentile score. ie 0 - 99.
must have a four year degree to go into officer training.

Eligibility

â€¢At least 19 and no older than 29 at time of enlistment (applicants ages 30-34 may request a waiver)

â€¢At least a 4-year college degree prior to entering the Army

An applicant must not have been judged to be a juvenile offender. This applies even if the court sentence, or any part of it, was suspended or withheld, or such conviction was in any way removed from court records by satisfactory completion of a period of probation. This also applies to adverse juvenile adjudication. (Note: Some convictions can be waived).

This is all I could find for you

I think you need a BA in order to be enlisted as an Officer.
Before you go to OCS, you get interviewed and goes through heavy background checks.
Once you get a BA, you can then apply for OCS. That's how it goes if i'm correct.

But I think he can join now, I forget the age requirements but i think he's good on his age right now.
Then after he finishes school while being enlisted, tell him to apply for OCS.

Better yet, talk to a recruiter.
