Question about going to Navy Boot camp!!!?

after we got everything done, and is time for us to go Boot camp in the Navy, do we get to pick what date we would like to go to the Boot camp, or the military people at MEPS will decide for us?

Well basically the job that you pick is the deciding factor as to when you will be sent to Boot Camp. the Higher the need for your job the quicker you can get to BC. The Lower the harder and more further away your ship date will most likely be. Once your job is picked you can have your recruiter put in for you to leave earlier and you can roll in as spots become availiable so whatever your initial contract says isnt set in stone. Good Luck

MEPS decides. i went in october of 08 and i leave June 3rd which i guess isnt to far away. about 3 days ago my recruiter called and said would you live to leave April 20th for boot camp. now i know a chance like this doesnt happen often and most people would take it in a hearbeat but i declined and took my origional shipdate.

but anyways the guys at meps handle it

Are you in DEP (Delayed Entry Program?) they should have that for you at MEPS after your "job" is picked. Your "school" or "A" school will determine the time of year you go.

meps will choose the earliest ship date for ur job... u can choose for a later date...u only leave earlier if someone cant ship out and they had the same job
