Question about leave time?

Okay, so I just graduated AIT. I took leave for exodus, but my AIT was long enough so that it's all paid off (barely!) I'm wondering if it's common that they'll let soldiers go "in the hole" for small amounts of time, like maybe a week, so that I could go visit family?

It is up to your chain of command - most units take block leave and any leave request outside of that has to be approved on a case by case basis. You can use leave you don't have as long as it is approved and you have enough time in service left to build it back up.

Yes, you can request advanced leave.

They do not have to grant it.

But they generally will for leave during a pcs move.

No you can't go in the hole. You get 2.5 days a month so you will have time saved up enough soon.
