Question about the military and their drug tests?

ok so about 2 yrs ago i joined the navy but was later discharged before my ship date because i tested positive for marijuana. i know it was a stupid mistake but w/e. anyways what i wanna know is am i able to reapply for any other branch? i tested positive on the drug test that they give you when you go to MEPS. after that i was sworn in so technically i was enlisted. any help is greatly appreciated.

You're good to go until the day you ship. Technically, you could have reapplied in about 6 months. It will limit what you can do in the military, but it isn't disqualifying. I knew a girl in boot camp who popped positive in boot camp, the senior drill instructor went to bat for her so she's still in the Marines to the day. It just depends on the people that are over you at the time and how much they like paper work/need numbers

you arent enlisted until you swear in a second time to leave for basic.
army will be your best bet.

i would suggest quit smoking pot and then go back in like a month. you obviously dont want to join that bad or you would give it up. I gave it up and now i have the best job in the world! so just quit, walk in a be honest with whoever your recruiter is, and you can re-try for any branch.... its been 2 yrs, you should b ok. but if u know ur gonna fail, dont waste there time.

peeing hot at MEPS means you are done forever. even before the economy tanked and all the branches stopped granting moral waivers.
