hey it's only the press. as a normal british guy i am all for the torturing of terroroist suspects, guantanamo bay is a great institution, we need to adopt these tactics because its the only thing these freaks respect.

What you need is some understanding of the culture and spies, informers on the ground etc.

Something you yanks haven't ever quite got the hang of helps too, Intelligence gathering on the ground.

Oh that and living up to your legal obiligations, ie: The Geneva Conventions would also help.

The Chinese are the world's masters at water torture techniques. They invented one where a dip of water hits the top of the head every few seconds. At first it feels just like that, a drip of water. However after an hour or so if feels like someone is bashing your head in with a hammer. Confessions soon follow.

I believe your "Black Jack" Pershing had a marvelous way of dealing with the Muslim Moro rebels in the Philipines prior to 1914.

He would execute all but one of his prisoners, then bury them in pig-skins or just covered with pig offal.

Then send the one survivor off to spread the good tidings.

Because here's a shock for you.... Newspapers and tv shows have their own agendas. They don't or occasionally can't tell you the truth.

I don't particularly care how much better it is than what 'they' would do, it's still classified as torture, and it's still against the Geneva Convention on Human Rights... which your nation, American Patriot, signed up to along with Britain. Nice one on condoning your government breaking it's promises.

No what we are supposed to do is just sit and wait, because if we were to ask we would be racist. I have no problem living alongside anybody regardless the colour of their skin, What I have a problem with is having no freedom of speech in fear of being classed as a racist. Now I come from ENGLAND I am ENGLISH and I am white I have no problem what so ever in being classed as a "BRIT" because I come from GREAT BRITAIN and I am proud of that fact. I have no problem with someone calling me a HONKY or a POMMY because once again they are not saying anything that isnt true. But how come as soon as the colour of the skin changes so does the rules. Someone from PAKISTAN is not aloud to be called a PAKI why its not racists it is an abbreviation of where they come from, you cant say that a coloured person is BLACK because its racists but if it is the colour of their skin why cant they be proud of that fact I am WHITE, white is a colour but I would be more offended in being called "COLOURED" then I would being called WHITE the point I am trying to make is no matter who you are, where you come from, or what the colour of your skin is be proud. We cant stereotype everyone but why should we live in fear from the minority ENGLAND is one COUNTRY and when in Rome do as the Romans do we all have to live by the same rules if certain "CULTURES" dont like it then find your meal ticket elsewhere. Its as simple as that really.

What you are supposed to do is get some evidence that will stand up in court and try them rather than torturing them to extract confessions from people who will say anything to save their life and who will condemn anyone you suggest to them under torture.

Waterboarding is not only barbaric, it is a poor substitute for actual investigation and many of the prisoners you torture were probably being held only because they were named by other people who were also being tortured.
