I am married with no kids. I am claiming my wife as a dependent. I am leaving for Fort Dix Aug for 51 days and then going to Iraq for 10 months. I was wondering about BAH,BAS, Save Pay and any other pay and how much it will be. I am an E-4. I will also be receiving the 2nd half of my sign on bonus in Iraq, is that taxed or not.

Base Pay: Will continue to stay the same unless you get promoted while deloyed or get any raises
BAH: You will continue to receive what you are making now, no changes
BAS: Same thing, you will continue to receive what you are receiving now
Bonus: The tax will be taken out of that bonus because you did not get the bonus while you were deployed. Only bonuses that were earned or given to you while you were deployed will be tax free even after you return stateside
FSA: After 30 days you will receive family separation pay which is $250 per month
Hostile Fire Pay: it was either $225 or $250 per month
Hazard Duty Pay: $100 or $150 per month
Taxes: Federal/State: No state or federal taxes will be taken out of your pay however social security and medicare will be.
Per Diem: This is given to you once you come back from the deployment. I don't remember the rate off the top of my head but I know for someone who goes to Iraq/Afghanistan for a year, it is at least $1000.

BAH based on the command zip code you are out of, so if Ft Dix is where your command is out of then that is the BAH amount
BAS is a set amount you get now.
Save Pay is $100 a month you might not get it at the start depending on your command
FSA - Family Separation of $250 a month when gone for longer than 30 days
Base Pay - no federal taxes paid, but it will be taken out first then refunded.
HFP - $225 a month |

Your sign on bonus will be taxed since you didn't do the bonus over there.

everything will stay the same. You will get extra money for hazard duty pay and danger pay.....i cant think right now but your BAH BAS wont really change. and its non taxable |

You DO-NOT Pay Taxes on any monies
receive while in a Combat Zone...
Hey don't you be worring about your Pay...
Just make sure you are getting it...

The BONUS as normal is already taxed. So you don't worry about paying the tax for the bonus you r receiving. |

If you re married, you will still get BAH/BAS. Great news, your bonus should be tax free!!! You will also get hazardous duty pay. Go to military. com to see the latest pay schedules. |
