Quick question about AIT?

I was just wondering...what happens at AIT? I know I learn my job and all that good stuff....but what is it like? On weekends can I enjoy myself? Are they going to be like...hardcore like at basic? I'll be going to Fort Lee in Virginia. Thanks!

Fort Lee isn't too bad, although when I went there for AIT I was prior service. It depends on how long you're there. If you have a longer MOS, you're more likely to get weekend passes. Also though you are more likely to have to do an FTX. It's not as bad as basic, but you're still under the control of drill sergeants. You do get more free time in the evenings though. |

depends on your MOS. some AIT are just like going through BCT expecially is your OSUT. if you have a combative MOS expect it to be rough. if ur a non-combative well it may be easier to go through. most of the time if ur non-comb it will be easy cause AIT is to help you also to transition into the regular army world where it is more relaxed than BCT (ir ur a non-combative) |

weekedns you do get to enjoy yourself you may even get to leave post.
of course weekdays you still have PT in the morning but nothing intense like bootcamp.
AND you actually get time to eat.
make sure you keep up with PT bc you will still have tests. |
