ROTC to Enlist Marines.?

If I went through the ROTC program at my university, and then enlisted in the Marines, would I start off higher than a private? I hat the fact that officers can't determine the MOS or even the occupational area they go into. As long as I don't sign an open contract I can choose my occupational field-please correct me if I'm wrong in saying that.

Short answers for you:
If you graduate from NROTC, you are a 2nd Lieutenant, period.
If you go through some of the program and then enlist, your NROTC experience does not count. What matters is your college credits. Your CO and XO have no influence in how "high" you will go as an enlisted soldier. They can only give you the tool set. |

If you go through NRTOC into the Marine Corps, you won't even be enlisted, you'll be an officer.

Ah, I see your point. (Just reread your question), not sure. You will at least be a PFC. I don't think you can could get any higher, unless you were the platoon guide and got LCPL. |

If you stay in top physical shape and academic excellence, your battalion CO and XO will make sure you get into the branch of your choice, plus after two years you can transfer branch anyway |
