Reactivating Army infantry units?

Reactivating Army infantry units?

My husband is being PCS'd to the 41st infantry at Ft. Bliss, which is currently inactive. Anyone with experience with reactivated units that can tell me if this means he'll be deployed immediately? Or will it take a few months for them to set the unit up correctly? I wouldn't be so concerned (deployments are a part of the Army life, after all), except that he's finishing up a deployment to Korea right now. Any info is appreciated.

It's going to be awhile before they are even all actually here let alone really to go anywhere. you can get info about the BCT he will be going by visiting https://www.bliss.army.mil/3rdBDE1stArmor/Welcome.html It is part of 1st Armored Division and they have a small ADVON unit here now and the rest will be coming later this summer and into the fall.

I'm sure it will take anywhere from 6 months to a year to get the unit set up and trained properly unless the unit being activated is merely swapping Colors with one already up to strength with all of its equipment and training.
