I have in the Army reserve have been since Febuary now but i want to go to college and the GI bill just isnt enough. So i was looking into going into ROTC which is Green to Gold but i also have heard if i do this i could loose my bonus and college repayment. Im ok with loosing the bonus i didnt join for money, becoming an officer i was wanting to do anyways so is it possible to go ROTC and stay in my reserve unit while im in school without loosing college repayment? My MOS is 31B

There is an option that you can do with approval of your CO, called SMP (Simultaneous Membership Program). You will be able to stay in the reserves keep, most if not all of your benefits from the reserves, you will also be in the ROTC and be receiving the monthly stipend from them (but not the scholarship). You will be on non-deployable status and when you graduate you will be commission and have the option of staying reserve or going active. |

You will transfer to SMP and drill every month as a cadet instead where you will serve as an aid9 Intern ) to at least a captain.Go on armyrotc.com where you can contact ROTC professors in your state to answer your questions |

Talk to the ROTC guys. They will know all the answers you need. My ROTC instructor and I worked all the numbers to figure out what the best way for me to sign up was so I could keep all my National Guard money. |
