And concentrate and use its resources to control its financial and economic problems. To take care of its back yard, so to speak. Additional Details Thank you for all your answers. I agree with all both yeses and nos.
As we are people of the world caring and concern for one another. This is a tough question to answer. May I refer to to a point in time during the British Empire. The fall of the Empire. The declaration of the independence of India particularly, the formation of Pakistan and and all its occupied countries. The formation of the British Commonwealth of nations. And still the United Kingdom is still now considered as a peaceful, prosperous and glorious nation.

Yes, but because it's the fastest way for stability to occur in Iraq -- it's what the majority of Iraqi's want, it's what majority of American's want, and it's what ambassadors have been calling on for years for the region to become more stable.
Additionally, it's not just what it's costing us over there, it's what it is costing us over here as well in terms of economics, security. |

That is because all that we've fought for would go unfinished and we might end up back in this situation in the future. |

We need to start withdrawing, but we need to do it very carefully. We actually HAVE made some progress over there, and even if you dispute that, things could very easily get a lot worse than they are now if there isn't a smooth transition between US and Iraqi security forces. |

yep and UK too!
Those men and women shouldn't be risking their lives fighting somebody elses war.
Talking should be taking place instead of Bush and Blairs jihad |

It was wrong in the first place to get in there, now it is hard to get out, why they bother about Iraq? I just feel very sad for the poor people had died there and all the soldiers for no good reason what so ever just because bush didn't like Saddam, so bloody sad ay. |

Now that the US has foolishly decided to commit itself to a conflict of this nature, it is hard to just pull out. This is due to the logistical nature of things there. It is now become very hard to just pull out 100000 service personel and not suffer casualties in the process. In conflicts of this nature, you either keep the number of troops limited to just a couple of Divisions or you don't get involved at all. Think of it there are around 3 millions service personel in the US Miltiary, costing billions. At the end of the day, apart from the being in the US alone, there are not many places left in the world that want to tolerate them anymore in such numbers so they had to be somewhere. The only way to efficiently get them out now is the pull them out in stage by stage operations. It's like having a home, moving house with the entire family is always logistically harder than it would be for a single person.
Just look at the way the Nazis committed themselves. Many wanted out of the conflict when they realised what they had let themselves into but due to the fight for survival and the magnitude of the situation, it became impossible to just end the conflict and go home. Many were left stranded in the Russian Stepps with nothing around them for hundreds of km but ambushes, and the impending threat of starvation and so on..... |

Of course. Nobody wants us over there! Who in the hell said women and children love us being there?!(Brittany). They don't want us over there, we bomb their houses, their schools, and this is all seen by their own eyes! They see death, and destruction. Screw the "iraqi government". We don't need to be wasting blood and treasure for a corrupt, and installed government we put in there. Sunnis, shiites, and even Iraqi christians are against our presence there. Under Saddam's regime, it was not a perfect government, but very stable and reliable. Even the CIA stated in the 9/11 commission report, there were no ties to 9/11, never financed terrorists, and never had weapons of mass destruction. This occupation is only creating more chaos, more death, and killing our economy here at home. Open your eyes, people. We should never sacrifice liberty for security, Benjamin Franklin knew the consequences. |

Let's not be silly. The press has been fighting to produce a recession only because they can't use their Iraq issue to get Democrats in office. Seems that Iraq is no longer front-page news, as things might being going rather well there, despite their efforts to undermine it all. Now, everyone is worried about their neighbors, though they are doing well. Why is that? For their neighbors are worried about them, too. Who created this? |

The US are war criminals for invading Iraq.
They had no basis for doing it in the first place.
You don't see Bush trying to invade China do you?
It just shows you how hypocritical and political it all is. |

I wish we could, but we started the war and if we back out now the shiites and sunis, and whoever else will keep fighting each other, which will lead to a big problem |

Per head of population, more people are shot in Washington each day than American troops being shot in Itaq.
Conclusion- withdraw from Washington! |

No. Do you know how long it would take for terrorists to take that country over, undo its freedom and basic infrastructure, and start attacking us on our home land again?
But hey, if the dems want that problem for their next president, that's just fine with me. More to yell about.
We're helping them stave off an INVASION from all around the middle east. That's why Iraq can't handle it alone. |
|

No, because then we would remain the country that lies about its commitment to freedom. Wars cost money and lives. Did anyone think otherwise when we started? Over 300,000 Americans died then, and we spent between 3 and 5 TRILLION dollars fighting it. Hitler never attacked us, but we went after him anyway from the beginning (w/ Lend-Lease Program). We were just getting out of the Depression at that time, too.
It would be a selfish, cowardly thing to abandon Iraq, now. |
|

Deuce
|
No. We can't abandon the Iraqis to sectarian violence just because we don't want to play anymore. We destroyed their government, and we have to make sure that Iraq can survive.
Also, America operates on a boom and bust cycle (about 20 years long), and we were due for a recession. |

This should have happened a long time ago, in my opinion, but right now, No. After all the hard work that americans put into trying to create a better nation for the Middle eastern people
would be a complete waste, and soldiers deaths for nothing. I would have strongly supported the withdrawal a long time ago, but it has been too many years since the americans "invaded" iraq. Hope this helps. |

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO! We did not go over there to build up their country just so we can pull back and let them fall apart again! We have made Iraq into a well run democracy. The women and children are SO grateful for our presence. They feed our troops often, and show their thanks in many different ways. We need to be over there. I would rather my tax dollars going to them, rather than poor, white trash people in America who have had MANY opportunities to change, but don't want our help.
EDIT: OH, PEOPLE BY THE WAY, THEY DECLARED WAR ON US! YOU RETARDS NEED TO FIND ANOTHER SOURCE THAN THE LIBERAL MEDIA! |
