Should i go navy or army?

Stay in school young man, buckle down and make it work. Get you diploma and if you still want to serve, then you can go in as an officer. You have to want to serve in the military in order to get the most from it. Don't join just because it is your last choice. If you do decide to join make sure that you get all the answers to your questions. Don't listen to the recruiters, it is their job to lie to you....that is life. Study all the branches, then decide what is best for you and get the best job that you can in a field that will be useful in the outside world when you get out. Good luck and GODSPEED

Go Marine Corps all the way! It is an experience beyond anything you will ever dream of having.

You will be in a lifelong brotherhood that no other service can offer.

Mostly you will be respected by everyone who knows you for having done something that very few people on this earth are capable of accomplishing.

Talk to recruiters from both services and decide which one suits you better.

I didn't go Navy because I'm a female and thought that they had just way too many uniforms to keep track of. Also, I grew up near the ocean so the Navy wasn't that appealing to me.

The Army seemed to have more hands-on time with firearms and explosives, which was appealing to me, and that's where Jump School is, so that's where I went.

Pick a reason, even if it seems stupid to other people, and just go with it. Whichever you choose, it will be well worth your time.

if you want to be on the front lines or go to Fort Bragg : ARMY

marines all the way i mean navy and army ya their alright but marines have the strongest and most intense training in case of going into war but out of the two i say navy

im ex army and i loved it.but what fills best for u.talk to both services , not everyone is fit for the army/marines. the navy is more laid back. u take orders all day in the army.u might like the air force also. if u like the woods dirt,mud welcome to the army

Talk to both recruiters, and see what they have to say. Consider what fields sound interesting, and ask what it takes to get training in those. And be aware that some recruiters will promise you anything and everything to get you to sign, so ask lots and lots and lots of questions. If it doesn't feel right, ask more questions about that area.

And don't forget the Marines or Air Force or Coast Guard. Why limit yourself? You may find what you want there.

In the army you have to be ok with being told what to do, when to do it and you cant ask why. You have to be ok with always having to ask someone if its ok for you to do this and that. You have to be ok with being away from your family for 12-15 months at time. You have to be ok with wherever they send you because the needs of the army comes first. The army does have pros and cons and you're going to have to do some more research before you come to a straight decision on if the army is right for you. And don't always believe what the recruiter tells you. Find out specifics on your own. Google is amazing.

As for navy, I have a friend stationed in San Diego, CA and I haven't heard much complaints except being out at sea for 6 months at a time. Air Force and Navy have a better quality of life than Army and Marines.

You should listen to "Trent B" 's advice and finish off college, get it out of the way. And while you are doing that, do some research into different aspects of each branch and also, different jobs. I dropped out of college and regretted it very much. I am now back in college while still on active duty; it is not easy. Good Luck.

To "Ash". What in the hell do you know about being in the military? Perhaps, you saw it on T.V.? Have you ever served a single day of your life? Being in the Navy is not just about floating around on the ships. The Navy has more death and injuries during peace time than the Army & Marines combined.

I am in the Navy, but still got stuck in a landlocked country like Afghanistan for almost a year. My "Navy" buddy got shot, and died, on DRY LAND. Currently, there are over a hundred sailors who have sacrificed their lives for this great country, also on dry lands. Get your fact straight, young lady.

it depends on how much action u want. i personally luv the marines... and aftr that the army. the amount of action goes like this navy seals,marines,army,air force,and squids get the least(navy) unless of corse ur in the JAG core(judge advocate general) SEIMPER FI!!!!

my friend joined Navy 2 years ago, and after he went through Navy boot camp he was sent to Marine boot camp to do another basic training.
but anyways, ever branch of military has its own good.
i enlisted in the Marine, will be shipped to San Diego this September, and i'm 17 years old.

Neither! Take a year off and enter a program or work and find your direction. You don't need to be scared for life and see things you don't want to so you can find your direction.

I was in the Air force, I went in when i was 18 im 24 now. I hated every last second of it! Fact is if your gonna go to the military you should go to the Air force. No matter what branch you go to you are going to be treated like crap. In the Air force your gonna do less work-still get treated like crap but make the same amount of money.... Dude your 21 about to be 22! A book never hurt anyone forget the military and go to school! Take it from me the military isn't all its cracked up to be!... If you go in and don't do a full 20 years your just wasting your time! Your gonna come out in 4 or 6 years and still have to go to school so don't waist time go to school now and forget the military!
