If your principles surrounding war in the Middle East will prevent you from doing your job effectively, then don't join. Otherwise, there are many options the Army has to offer, especially if you already have some college education under your belt.

If Combat Arms aren't your thing, you can always get a Military Intelligence or Signal Corps MOS. These jobs won't guarantee that you'll be out of harm's way, but they do give you a chance to obtain job skills (and, quite possibly, a security clearance) that can help you make a decent civilian career after your time in service.

Talk to a recruiter. Remember that until you sign, you hold all the cards. Get everything in writing. I did.

If your not willing to do what your country asks of you, then do not join. If that's the way you feel, then I'd rather you not be around watching my back. You're going to end up getting someone killed.

all dudes that want to join the army are scared. Don't fight if you don't want to, its scary and its not worth it either. War isn't good and is scary.

Money is another objection, if you r worried about college get a scholarship, borrow some money, have your parents pay for it, babysit (it brings in cha-ching trust me, i make at least 50-80 in 1 weekend), get a JOB!!!

First what you should know is that joining the army is very exhausting, example : you wake up at 6:30 just to clean your barracks, then you have to be properly dressed in uniform and blah and blah, but on the bright side, joining the army gives you discipline, and lots of exercise. you get medals and you get a proper education. you also get paid, free food, and protection.

in my opinion, i would say the military is the best thing to do.
alot of benefits, dental and medical insurance. free housing. etc.

Yes you should not only would you be fighting for democracy you get benefits like help with college and leadership abilities you will get stronger too.I am sorry if i sound preachy

same boat as you kinda. i want to go to college but i wont be able to afford it so im hoping for acceptance to either the Military Academy at West Point or i hope to get an ROTC scholorship. in my opinion you should totally do it. no one wants to fight a war but the nation does need people to be prepared to defend the country plus once your out you'll have real world experiance in certain job fields
