Should i join the army or ta?

technically you are joing the British Army. ONE Army, TA and Regular. I am currently in the T.A. and I HAVE done regulars. The only difference between the T.A's and the Regulars is commitment. Other than that you go through all the same training, skill at arms and that kind of thing.

Generally it is up to you. The T.A. is a very good stepping stone in getting into the regs.

Personally, I wouldn't join either.
Remember, if you join the TA, you will need to hold down a full time job, to support yourself, but most of your holiday allowance will be used up by TA commitments. At least in the Army, you will get leave to yourself.

Join the TA and see if you like it. Then you can make your mind up whether or not to join the real Army.

Well if your not to sure, then my sugestion would be joining the Ta's to see what the army is all about, then if you think you got in you to serve as a full time soldier then why not apply

If you are so undecided why not pick a branch of the survive you MIGHT enjoy and then join the TA for a couple of years.
You will do 8 weekends of basic training the two weeks on advance trade training.

The 8 weekends will be rough if you have never had any contact with the service but you will spread it out so that your aches and pains have a chance to subside.

The TA - more commonly known as the SAS (Saturdays and Sundays) isn't worth the aggro of having the p*ss ripped. Join the Army.

If you join the regular British Army, you may find yourself effectively stuck in something you don't like for a period of years. If you want to be in the full time British Army, you need to want it badly. There's no room for maybes.

The Territorial Army may be a better choice - apply for a transfer to the full time if you find you like the military lifestyle. If you don't, the worst you'll have to put up with is two weeks of continuous training.

When I applied they didn't even give me army papers just wanted me to apply for the Navy or the Airforce, mostly because I my father and granfather were in the Airforce, I think.

Either way you are likely to end up as cannon fodder. Join the RAF as they are the only ones with sense enough to send their officers off to fight. After all they get paid more!
