Weeell, I’m against wars, so I’d preferred to use other ways (diplomacy and economy, perhaps sabotages) to defeat Saddam Hussein. It would have taken longer, but would have taken less lives. I guess Iraq will be a better place on longer terms, but now it seems the price was too high (for Bush too). |

Are they grateful now? I am a southerner and we are eternally grateful.
I love the South but I love the US even more. Thank-God for President Licoln who was even less popular than Bush is at the time, but is now regarded as one of the two greatest presidents.
Did Licoln free the American Slaves or attack them when he invaded the south? Obviously he freed them. History will treat Bush the same way weather you like it or not. |

They already are grateful. Unfortunately, the media doesn't show the Iraqis that are turning in the insurgents, or the flowers that are given to our soldiers, or the kids and women that are thanking our service members for the water, electricity, sanitation, etc. What the media shows is only the IED blowing up our guys.
Jeanius, we did not destroy their country, or provoke civil war. Check your history. The country is still standing and is better all the way around. The "civil war" is just an on-going RELIGIOUS feud between the Shiites and the Sunnis.

The answer is NO. Well Saddam was a vicious dictator but there a plenty of countries who are still under the rule of people like him. Go "liberate" them oh no of course they don't have any oil. Iraq liberated thats crap Iraq is in a worse mess than when America went in. Oil is the reason America went in and only that oil being secured to American interests will be the reason America goes out. Iraqi citizens have had to tolerate loudmouth US marines breaking into their homes, taking away their husbands or sons, branding as terrorists and insurgents when all they really want to do is sort their own country out and be left in peace to do so. NO NO and NO again the Iraqis have nothing to be grateful for. I wish Americans could experience the same as the Iraqis then there would be no question as whether to be grateful or not.
Sorry but Americans beleiving otherwise have all been brainwashed by propagander. The feud between Sunni's and Shiite's wasn't violent before teh invasion and now is. America liberated them in a sense from Saddam but they are no under a worse administration US martial law. |
