Should the USA set a deadline for pulling out of Iraq?

The deadline should be when the job is done and Iraq can provide for and protect themselves.

I don't enjoy seeing any soldiers or civilians die, but we went there to provide a better life for the Iraqi people. We haven't done that yet. To leave now would be like leaving your chihuahua in a pack of wolves. He would probably put up a good fight, but would get torn to shreds in the end.

If the insurgents would just realize how much we want to leave, and stop attacking us and their own people, we would be able to leave. Instead, they attack their own people, destroy their own resources and attack the military that is supposed to be there to protect them until they get situated.

Oh, *and* before anyone says anything... I think the soldiers that have commited crimes over there should be fried. They do not represent why we are there. They have put our soldiers in more danger and forced an even longer time there due to more anger creating more violence. Idiots... in my opinion.

they should of already pulled them out, and they have already set a deadline to pull the troops out. (the deadline will only stand if things continue to so called go well in Iraq.)

No, that would not be a good idea. It would only give power to the insurgents; if they think we have a timetable they will just pace themselves until we leave. We need to stay until the job is complete or the government of Iraq asks us to leave.

Sure, why not? Let's tell our enemies the exact time and day we are going to leave. That way, they know how long it will be before they win the war. It will give them plenty of time to plan a huge celebration party. Hell, why don't we just leave now? We could just leave all our equipment and go. Actually, do we really need a military? Why don't we disband our military? We could fight our enemies with words, or rely on our allies for help. Maybe we should get rid of Bush too, and invite Bin Laden over to rule us for awhile. All these options sound soooo much better than waiting for Iraq to be able to defend itself before we leave, don't ya think?

We are there at the request of the Iraqi government and a majority of the population. Stop watching the news if you can't remember the details and the good that has come out of this. As far as the war went and the removal of an evil dictator we were successful. It is not our fault that fanatics dint like us because we believe in the bible(majority) and that this action has given them the perfect opportunity to kill Americans. What would you do? Just leave and let a different type of terrorism lead the country? You must not be one of the typical love thy neighbor Americans i live near. We as Americans DEMANDED Bush to do something about 911 and he did in the only place we wouldn't fire him for and now it disgust me how so many people forgot this and want to QUIT. No don't pull out, FINISH the job.

I think we should leave when the mission is accomplished, that is the Iraq government is sufficiently stable to provide for their own security against insurgents. I do feel that WE meaning our strategists (in secret) should be deciding on specific measurable criteria (if they haven't already) to use to precipitate a withdrawl. Make no mistake...terrorists aren't going away, we will need to continue to take military action to root them out and destroy them wherever they are.

No. That would cause "sleeper cells" in the war on terrorism to grow dramatically. You would have insurgents biding their time, waiting for the US to leave Iraq, and then a full scale slaughter would occurr and kill the people we promised to help. In the first Gulf War we left the Iraqi people high and dry after slapping Saddam around. The people that went against Saddam were then captured and tortured, and killed because we left them. We will NOT do that to the Iraqi people again. We will stay until they are ready, and trained sufficiently to run Iraq they way they desire.

Does anyone read what the War is really about, or do you all believe it's only about oil, and that we are systematically trying to kill these people, and that insurgents are good? Read, educate, use brains now. PLEASE! *rolleyes*
