Should women be allowed to fight in the forces of close groung combat?

yes, we would catagorize them into when they have there period and they could be rotated accordingly. that way we have pissed of PMSing women out there kick some ***. For real though i think that women arent allowed in that situation is for there own safety from the other soldiers ie. rape.

in reference to what blackman wrote. that may be true for some units but other units (mainly infantry) are still doing raids on houses, traffic control points, patrols as well as doing show of force missions. so cqb is still very avtive over there.

I don't think the military needs to be mixed in with BS politics and political correctness. If it is going to make the military on average weaker and less effective then having women fight on the front lines isn't a good idea.

Women in support positions in every war have been put into situations where they had to fight like ground combat troups anyway.

the main thing stopping women before was the problem of getting pregnant just require she use some form of birth control like the implant or the pill. with a monthly check by the company medic using the test strips.

Women should not be in the military ,Im in a infantary battalion and for some reason they put women in with us I have seen more than once the problems this has caused,Im not belaming the woman the men that got involved are just as guilty.Well screw it im out of the Army soon and I really dont give a sh** no more ,If there wasnt such a good old boy system were dirtbags get promoted just cause who they know i probably would stay in.But hell its the National Gaurd and thats screwed up with to begin with.

its not weather they should or not, they already are. We have women gunners on convoys, we have women on search and raid parties. its not a matter of weather they should allow because they already are.

damn skippy, pippy...they're always crying boo-hoo about equality, so ok....grab a Tommy gun and get in the fight. Women always say they can do things at least as good as men....yeah, so PROVE IT!!!!! Personally, i think they would totally bungle everything and get lots of friendly troops killed.

Women already are. They are not only allowed to do it, but they do it very well. Women can statistically handle stress and pressure better than men can. And besides, women have been combat proven.

I'm a soldier in the Army, and I'd be proud to fight alongside any of the women I work with right now.

NO! more men will be killed trying to save or protect the females in combat with them,,it's just the nature of our human race...at least the good guys would.

In reality, NOT EVEN men fight today in close range combat. Thanks to technology, every unit tries to reduce its casualties by not even fighting their enemies directly. The current war in Iraq and Afghanistan is a good example. You may see soldiers firing at positions, but the fact is the enemy is not really visible due to their distance and hide outs. Therefore, it is used satellite guided or precision weapons, or even unmanned planes. The U.S is not and will never be well trained when it comes to combat ground war, but they find it successful when these resources I mentioned is used.
