If they institute a draft, then of course women will be included.
Different obligations based on gender? I don't think so.
There are plenty of support roles that women are perfectly capable of doing, and while there are female soldiers in combat roles, every female could not qualify.
I have a feeling that the ACLU will be oddly silent on this issue. |

Equality in the military is a load of BS
Women will never be drafted
If they were, why would they? Their PT standard is far below a male PT standard, they get treated better by hardcore sergeants, and if they want out of a deployment/draft, they can get pregnant.
Don't get me wrong, roughly 70% of all the women I've met in the military are hard-working and push themselves to meet or exceed the male standard. But I highly doubt drafted women would have the same personal dignity as most of the current serving women do. I blame society... |

Into the military? No. But I do think that everyone between the ages of 18 and 25 should perform some sort of national service. Not just the military. It would be a great way to give something back to the greatest nation in the world instead sitting on your butt and saying "gimmie" all of the time. |

There is no draft. If your question is should women play a bigger role in combat the answer is yes. If you want to be treated like men, you should be allowed to fight. |

I hope we don't start a draft for men or women. Volunteers make the best soldiers. After I retired from the Army I went to college, all my fellow students were about the same age as a new recruit. With the exception of the ROTC students, I wouldn't want any of them on my tank crew or in my Scout squad. |

men and woman at the age of 18 should do a minimum of 2 years. give em some self respect, some manners and some patriotism.
Many countries do. |

If you are in the US, the answer is no. We do not have a draft in the US. |

Well i would say yes, if they can fly planes now and be in the front lines why not. |

Women in general still havent proved they are better than men in combat situations. They should be allowed to be drafted, if ya saying dis as a rule, cause women in the USA cont to say they are equal w/ men. So why not share their own silly ways to fight war as silly as men do. Nuuf said! |

No because the need seems to be soldiers for combat arms and women, are not allowed in combat arms MOS's. |

So far the draft gos is not happening yet where are you getting this info at?????? My daughter joined the Army at the age of 17, she wanted to give back to her country, and to help protect the USA. This is a good answer, and I'm damn proud of her. |

Funny. Women complain about not being treated equally except when it comes to serving their country. Why should you be exempt from the thrills of sitting in a fox hole and getting shot at? So yes, if there is a draft then you should go if called. |

I'll say no. Maybe it's macho thinking, but a woman can give birth, a man can't: that should be on her priority list. Sure, a woman can kill just like any guy but even in times of war tons of jobs may be of more importance than straight military service. |

if we had the draft right now: no. they are not given equality yet. they still restrict the women from doing certain things, just because of a bunch of chauvinistic @$$holes. once they get equality, then yes. |

First off the purpose of the draft is to quickly raise an infantry. Women are forbidden by law to perform front line combat operations so that is why women are not required to register for selective service. Now to your question: Yes, they should be drafted because they can fill all the non- front line combat jobs and free a man to go fight. Many civilian women did exactly that during WW2, ever heard of Rosie the Riveter? With the rapid increase in personnel a draft would incur then there would be many jobs for women to perform and they all would be vital and important. |

FYI: Every man between ages of 18-25 signs up for selective service whether a draft is in place or not. It doesn't necessarily mean they will be called for service.
That being said. Yes, I believe every one at the age of 18 should have to sign up for selective service. However, if a draft is called and you are a conscientious objector then a government type of volunteer option should be available. |

Since you are asking for an opinion, I'll give mine. I think there should be a 'Universal Draft'. Everyone in the country, upon reaching the age of 18, or graduating high school, should be given a choice of govt service. Two years, but I'm not just saying the military, the govt needs manpower in lots of areas, infrastructure construction projects, maintenance of govt facilities, social programs, etc.. I think it might give people more of an identity as a citizen, and provide a couple of years doing something useful and time to grow up. |

well there is no drafts, but i think women should be treated the same way as guys do, there are a lot of us woman joining the military, i also agree that it may be that we are not qualify to do many of the duties but we sure could help. |

if there was a draft women will never be drafted, some men wont be drafted because they are the only son in the family. |

There's shouldn't be a draft in any case, for any gender.
I feel though, that there should be a bit more balance in men/women ratio, recruiting efforts should be tailored to that effect. |

No I do not believe women should be drafted because women are the cradle of civilization. |

Why shouldnt they? They are volunteers as much as the men are. The females alot of the time make better soldiers than the men do. |
