yes. i live in fort hood Texas one of the biggest military installations. they have had their electric shut off and half of the base is having to drive for miles to use the bathroom because sewer is backing up. we have been told nothing can be done because the gov. is out of money. we are starting to live like a 3rd world country because all our finances are being pulled to support the war. fort SAM Houston just received their electric disconnection notice today. its sad that are bases here have to live like this. we have no more money or emergency funding left. i hope there isn't another Katrina this year because our economy could not handle it. its sad when we take care of Iraq before we take care of united states. |

No, No, No, No......We just need to execute this war wiith the proper strategy. The military leaders need to take charge and tell the poliiticians to sit back and watch. The hell with the bleeding hearts and world "opinion"---- Let's get it done right and come home. |

Sure! But don't forget the influence of Zionist control over the U.S. govt and the fact that there's a zillion barrels of oil under the sands. |

I don't have any loved ones overseas right now but I did. I feel like we should get out of Iraq, but Iraq didn't ask to be invaded and destroyed. So, since we made the mess I feel we are obligated to clean it up.

No, for us to leave now, would have made these last few years for nothing. A great many men and women in uniform and their families have made awesome sacrifices. To leave now would make it all for nothing. Iraq is a new Democracy and needs our help to grow. Whether you agree with how we got there, we are there now and it is just plain un-American to run away from anything. |

Hmm....leave today?????????I agree that maybe we should not have gone in the first place but think of it as a war between you and someone Else you can't just back down half way through or your gonna get it later, you take care of business get it all out/ done over with till your both all better then the healing begins. So NO i don't think we should pull out right now. But not till then. Yes i do have someone in the mil. but he is not overseas thank god but he did volunteer and that scared me and i don't know how i would hold together while he was there but I'd have to you know i don't really have a choice it would be his decision. And I'd be sad but I'd love him the same and feel about the war as i do now it seems dumb and almost point less but it is making a difference and it is horrible that people in that country are innocent by-standards, that actually pisses me off. Cuz that could be us here, other countrys hate bush so boom there go's the east coast, you know. |

I don't believe in war. I think it is the most idiotic human assumption to think that war is a necessity. The truth is that we should never have gone over there in the first place. Now that we are there, however, I have a hard time thinking that we should abandon our posts. The reason I feel this way is that we went over there and destroyed their government... their whole way of life... if we left now, what would that do to the future generations? Wouldn't it be easier if we left for another tyrant to take over? When a country is in turmoil and there's no government to speak of people with hidden agenda's will use this to their benefit. That being said, I know that I don't have all the information to make a decision such as this.
I have 2 family members that are in the military. One is in Iraq right now... one just came home and is re-enlisting to go back. I am terrified that something will happen to them over there! But I also know that they are old enough to make their own decisions. I think the effect of this war will be felt for years to come. The effects of conflict and the constant paranoia that both sides live in is traumatic. I wish that we had never gone over there. Hopefully, it will have a positive outcome for the land of Iraq.
As for democrats... they are not chicken sh*t... they aren't scared... some people choose to win battles in an intellegent way instead of resorting to brute violence. Some people don't. And the fact that neither side of this argument will try to see the benefit of the opposite, shows how small minded people are in this country. There IS a happy medium... people refuse to see it because of their vanity and need to always be right. |

WE shouldn't leave till the soldiers feels they have finished their job. |

more soldiers are republicans and that proves in a way how cowardly and full of hot air the democrats are. |

Yes! They should be pulled out right now, and let the Iraqi Government fight the civil war for themselves. |

No.
We left Vietnam and Somalia without trying to "win", so now the world feels the U.S. won't finish anything if you make them bleed. |

I don't think we need as many soldiers as we have over there. I think in the real bad parts of Iraq is where we need our soldiers at.....In a way i think having my husband over there affects me a lot, not in the fact that i think they should pull out, but the fact that it's hard having him there and worrying everyday if I'm going to talk 2 him or if i'm going to get that phone call telling me something happens.. His 1 yr. tour is almost over and i'm so very thankful. I pray everyday 4 each and every one over there. I don't think ne1 really understands what it feels like 2 have someone u care about so much, fighting in a place that mostly doesn't want to be saved unless u are experiencing it. I think the reason's Bush is over there is TOTALLY different than what he saids he's over there 4, and i would say that a lot of ppl agree wit me. But that's MY opinion, everyone is entitled to it, and 4 the ones that support HIM, that's kewl, if u do. If u don't that kewl 2, becuz i DO NOT support the war. but I do support my Soldier becuz that's what i'm suppose 2 do as a WIFE. All in all, our military personnel are risking their lives so that we can have our freedom as well has giving the Iraqi ppl theirs, so I commend everyone 4 being real men and women and i will 4ever be grateful 4 er'thing they've done 4 us! |

Hell no, we have to stay there until the job's done. If we leave today, it will be viewed as a win for Al-Quaeda and the rest of the terrorists in the world. Iraq can't police itself just yet, and we have to stay there until they can. Otherwise, we're losing a major battle, thereby inspiring other potential terrorists to join in the jihad, and we'd be ditching our "spread of democracy" effort.. The rest of the world would not be pleased, especially Iraq. If we left now, the terrorists would more than likely take control of the government, and we'd have a much worse enemy than Saddam in the Middle East. I was against the war to begin with, but to leave now would be a huge mistake.
Also, there's a reason why we don't have any plans for withdrawal like all the idiot democrats are asking for. What do you think the terrorists would do if they knew we would leave on a certain date if things cooled down? I think they would chill out for a while, until we left, and then resume their normal activities. A plan for withdrawal helps no one but the enemy.
Yeah, we're building bases in Iraq. I doubt we'll ever completely leave the country. It will be like South Korea. We'll maintain a presence to deter aggression. |
