When you have done the time then you might be able to say you know how people in the military feel.

The idea of basking in eternal peace is a good thing to want, but bringing the troops home now just would not do that. Your peace will be short lived.

Sure we should leave if you want to go back in 10 years to fix the civil war that would surely start. The smart thing would be to fix it before we leave. Not going would have been ok but its too late for that.

Face it Iraq has no stable government right now. They just have Sunnis and Shiites killing each other trying to get power. Iran and Turkey would surely jump into these fights and make things even worse.

You mean pull out of the war? You have to understand that if UK and US troops come home, there will still be a war. Also, the locals that the troops have been working with will become easy targets for rebels. London and New York have been attacked, we are both at war with terrorists, you can not just say 'lets finish it and have peace', its not that simple. Our troops are in the west deffending those who need help. Of course some people will come up with issues such as 'Bush is in it just for the oil', but surely we should see past that if pulling out of Iraq means people will be left undeffended. The media started the criticisms of the war and the general public kept them alive, dig a little deeper and look at the history of Iraq and other eastern countries before you form such simplistic opinions.

Britain should definately pull out. Its an American mess like most things and we shouldnt be sorting it out. The USA has the resources to stay in their forever. And anyway, the UN was opposed to going into Iraq, but the USA ignored their decision and went in anyway. Its not healthy for world peace if there is only one superpower who can do whatever they want to.

My guess is that its not that easy.. a war was started without finding any WMD and hundreds of innocents killed and now getting the troops back is like the osterich putting its head under the sand and hoping no one will see it!!! Noble thought.

I totally agree, why are having war against the Iraqis in the first place? The Iraqis didn't attack us on 9/11. We need the Military here were they can protect us from the terrorists. But the real reason our borders are wide open and Bush has spent all of our money is to eliminate the middle class, so we will do anything they ask.It is the only way they could force us to accept the One World Order.
