have any of you soldiers actually been to iraq, been through combat, and saw those things on the road? what do you think about how the movie portrays soldiers with PTSD? is it really that scary? do you think this movie is very true, or just bs?
i'm really curious about this stuff, i need to know cuz i'm going to be joining the army.

if you havent seen it, maybe you should. after seeing what was in the movie, it kinda scared the crap outta me.

I don't watch any movie based on Iraq or Afghanistan any longer, and this did not make the list of the ones I've seen. The majority of movies about the current conflicts tend to depict soldiers/marines as mindless killers, incapable of doing anything but killing,drinking,raping and other mindless behavior and that we are incapable of adapting to normal life. I would rather never return to civilian life if that is how the genereal public views those of us who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan. Yes, PTSD is real, and yes, IED's and VBIED's are scary, but no one cares, they are far too interested in the political aspects to care about how we, as soldiers, feel and adapt to civilian life. |

ive never seen the movie but i can tell you from experience that IEDs, EFPs, and VBIEDs are no joke at all.

Hey dean.... the scary thing is that this movie is based of real events that happened right after this kids unit got back from iraw... it doesn't have much " rea; combat in regards to iraq... it a murder drama mystery, and it really happened |
