Someone please answer mycold war quetions!! :)?

I have an interview i have to do in my World History class...if someone who lived during the cold war could pleaseee try to answer my questions by today or tomorrow i would greatly appreciate it!

1. What state in your life were you in (student, teacher,worker...)during the cold war?

2.Did you understand what was going on during this time?

3.What do you think were the most important national or international events during the Cold War?

4. Which people had the greatest impact or made the largest impression on your life during this time period?

5. How did the Cold War affect you, your family, or community?
Additional Details
please elaborate

Wayne C
1. All 3. Student 1960-1973. Worker 1972-current. Teacher (Corporate) 1986-1997
2. Yeah, it was hard to not hear the Air Raid Sirens being tested daily at noon, the duck and cover drills in school.
3. The destruction of the Berlin Wall.
4. I was 5 years old when JFK made his inaugural speech. I remember watching it and read it to remind me of his thoughts. I watched MLK on TV but was too young to get it...sure did as a teenager. Met Huey Newton at a party in Oakland when I was 14. He did not seem like the a hole my Dad said he was. Henry Kissenger and his women impressed me. I hated being in the Army while Jimmy Carter was in office. Loved Reagan.
5.Growing up in the SF Bay Area many men were either in the Navy or working on a base around here. Mare Island (subs), NAS Moffet and Alameda, Oakland Army Base, Treasure Island, Presdio SF, Hunters point navla Shipyards, Oak Knoll Hosp, Travis AFB, Ft. Ord. All the Dads were WWII Vets and proud Flag wavers. I remember watching the Kruschev UN speech on the news, think I was 7. There were no air raid shelters built. you dig here and you hit water at 10 ft. There was a Nike Missle base 5 miles away in Castro Valley CA and test shots.

My dad was in the army as an MP during the cold war he always thinks it's funny to say "Well when i was 19 i was in Germany fighting in the cold war" eventhough there was never any direct conflict

Michael
You should have asked a neighbor who is about that age.

But, here goes.

1. I was a student during the cold war.
2. Yes, a bit.
3. The cuban missile crises and the Bay of Pigs were the most important.
4. The cold war caused many to build bomb shelters, and to worry about a nuclear war.

The cold war was nearly a half century long. People were born, grew old, and died during that time. Over those 50 years, many things changed and the cold war had an impact on many things in many different ways, so your question is far too vague for anyone to really answer. What if you narrowed it down to a part of the cold war (beginning, maybe the decade following WWII, middle, the 60s and 70s, and the end, the 80s and the fall of communism).
